Browser Testing with k6

i am new to performance testing, could you inform me how to work on a website that uses auth0, tried using token to bypass logging but status is not 200 for all vus. although tbf im using single user email and password.

Do we have an official docker image to run xk6-browser tests?

Hi Walter! For now, no official k6 docker image includes a browser. We have raised an issue for this which you can find here github.com/grafana/k6/issues/2914. We do have this Dockerfile here github.com/grafana/xk6-browser/blob/main/Dockerfile but this is running the browser tests as an extension, and not natively part of k6. I hope this helps! - Marie

One more question how can I know the max number of VUs that I can run an xk6-browser script?

There is no official max number but what we recommend is a hybrid approach to your tests instead, meaning you only spin up 1 or 2 browser VUs and generate most of the load on the protocol level. Check out k6.io/docs/testing-guides/load-testing-websites/#hybrid-load-testing for more details - Marie

I have not been able to switch to new tab when running the k6 browser test. Though i tried the change focus command listed in k6 documentation but that doesnt work. My use case is in a page there is a button which opens up a new tab when clicking it. And i am not able to switch to new tab in script hence cant perform next actions on new tab. Hoping for some help/response.

Hi there! Please check out k6.io/docs/using-k6-browser/migrating-to-k6-v0-46/ for more information. You probably need to set the environment variable K6_HEADLESS_FALSE and set it to false.
