I keep saying this but the success of overwatch shows that no one cares about the game having a diverse roster. The characters in concord are just so ugly to look at I would rather play anything else. I can't speak for everyone but you look at a match of overwatch and the characters look fun and visually appealing and on a certain level it makes you think "I should play a couple matches, they look like they're having fun." You look at concord and it looks like a bunch of ugly people in ugly outfits running around a ugly map and it makes you think "I could have this same gameplay experience without torturing my eyeballs if I played any other hero shooter out right now."

Hey, I used to work in the video game industry for a little company called Vivendi Universal. Developers are paid for their work on a game while it's being produced, usually via contract and sometimes salary. The companies will rarely keep employees after a game is finished unless they're invaluable for further development projects. The devs aren't going to starve, such low paying jobs are a dime a dozen within the industry. It's just a shame that publishers and dev teams are allowing themselves to be infected by DEI/Bridge policies or funding.

I wouldn't hire anyone credited on Concord's release. That shows you're either a cynical time waster who purposefully wastes extreme amounts of time designing products that you know will crash and burn, effectively sabotaging the company so your paycheck lasts as long as possible without you needing to put in any work on support... Or _worse_ your perception of reality is so hideously screwed that you genuinely believed in Concord as a product, and you can't be _trusted_ because you will pump out mistake after mistake and berate the customers for not consuming your tripe.

Concord's death had nothing to do with the community, people are just tired of spending ridiculous prices for lackluster games and remember that Ubisoft put out Skull & Bones which if I remember correctly had a similar sized budget and it started as just DLC FOR FING BLACK FLAG! Edit: also, yes, the Day Before DID come out and within the span of a week, got removed from Steam and the studio behind it was shutdown.
