The best thing is that despite having this whole game recorded, Zed's account is still playing the game like nothing happened. Now try to imagine Riot's "response" for such individuals in situations with noone recording.

And he probably won't ever be banned and will forever keep playing like he's locked in a mental asylum. As long as he doesn't type anything or doesn't run it down too obviously, he's "not toxic :)" in Riot's eyes. He can even tell people repeatedly to "⛈" because "it's just a ping :)". Since he doesn't type "anything bad", Riot approves it.

EDIT: It was pointed out that at 7:08 Zed wastes flash (off screen so I missed it), and between 7:27 and 7:45 Zed waits in base for 40 seconds and at 7:58 is when he first leaves. The way it was cut made me think that Zed waited 30s for an item (perhaps longer than he should have, but technically quicker than if he were to walk to lane and recall again and then walk BACK to lane). But by 7:58, 90 seconds has passed in game, which makes it egregious. When I went back to skip through the VOD, I thought he had left base one time in that span, but upon further review he did not (he baited me by walking out of base and then back in). I would say a 2-week ban may be warranted. FWIW, I still don't think what Zed did was worse than fully leaving the game, and I don't think leaving a single ranked game warrants a perma-ban, so what zed did also shouldn't warrant a perma ban (without reviewing other games of his). ORIGINAL COMMENT (incorrect info included, retained so there is context for future readers who read the comment thread): The only toxic thing Zed did this game was bait ping. If you watch his gameplay, he made mistakes and got ganked but he never deliberately inted (despite what Broxah accused him of). I say this as a jungle main who hates nothing more than toxic mids who troll, but I can safely say I'd take this Zed 10/10 games instead of someone who is actually inting. Even though Zed ended up using pings toxically, Broxah flamed Zed pre-emptively at 8:15 (calling for a permaban). Zed got ganked level 2 by Rek'Sai and got chunked. Afterwards, at 3:20 Zed went in on Ahri under Zed's own tower when Broxah pinged "OMW" in a play that would have been a 1-for-1 trade on Ahri if Broxah hadn't suddenly pathed up to top to save K'Sante and get 2 kills. Even though I think Broxah made the correct play--saving his top laner AND getting a kill is better than just cleaning up the Ahri--it makes sense why Zed would be frustrated since he made a play based on Broxah's OMW ping that would at least get him an assist (and some experience) and make the game more playable for him. IMO, it would have made more sense for Broxah to communicate "sorry I had to pivot to top lane instead of cleaning up Ahri, but since she is so ahead now ganking her is our main risk of losing the game. You are going to have to play safe since I can't just sit mid the rest of the game hoping to get you a kill". Later on at 5:55, Zed walks up to far and dies to a gank from Rek'Sai, but it doesn't look like he was trying for a solo kill, he just went a little too far out of his tower. At 8:15, Zed dives and gets a kill, but barely gets a return death to Sion's zombie passive. This is when Broxah calls for a permaban (Zed hasn't bait pinged yet, according to the chat logs). In summary, the only things Zed does before Broxah calls for a permaban are: 1) Died to Ahri in what would have been a 1-for-1 trade after getting level 2 ganked 2) Slightly over-extended and died to a Rek'sai gank barely outside his tower 3) Dive Sion and get a kill, and then get a return death to Sion's zombie passive (barely) I think Broxah is out of line with his commentary here. Nothing Zed has done up to this point is unreasonable from a player trying their best to win. It's worth noting that Zed is Diamond 1 and Broxah went to Worlds Finals, so Broxah might be comparing Zed's gameplay to Challenger expectations, but he shouldn't be. That being said, Zed using his bait pings at 8:27 to distract his teammates wasn't productive either, and isn't excused by Broxah's call for a permaban. Oddly though, if Zed was watching the stream, maybe the reason he bait-pinged was because Broxah asked for a perma-ban to his not-so-small audience despite Zed not doing anything egregious up to that point. In real-life time, it was about 10 seconds later.

@@HappyBeeGamingBrother in Christ, are you sure we both watched the same game? Because apart from pinging the whole goddamn game this midlane gentleman kept stealing jungle camps and just straight up blew his flash at least twice. Alongside a permaban our buddy there should get a slap across the face, so I have even more respect for Broxah since he even bothered trying and talked to him afterwards, despite Zed deserving none of the kindness.

@@HappyBeeGaming You cannot conveniently ignore everything between minute 7 and 8.That's disingenuous. - < 7 min already pinging annoyingly often, mute is the right call - 7:07 Obvious rage flash and griefing jungle camp - 7:20-8:00 Trying to avoid AFK detection by moving around in base, was not waiting to buy anything, check his items before and after. Afterwards indeed not that much is going on besides the pings and some questionable buff steals, which can be muted and/or are acceptable. There is an argument that Broxah is out of line but the quote "Nothing Zed has done up to this point is unreasonable from a player trying their best to win" is just laughable if you consider the above. That really should be enough to warrant at least a temp ban. I am also quite certain the reason Zed decided to not further int is because they did not get any attention from the others.

It's not a silver player who's sitting at tower with no health or mana asking for an impossible gank. Zed needed the gank otherwise mid gold lead would continue to snowball. If I spam ping my jungler because there's an obvious opportunity that they should be taking, but instead they mute my pings and farm chickens? I'm going to assume my jungler is going to troll me the rest of the game. Broxah refused to gank because the Zed pinged him too many times and he got upset. Zed may be Master but Master players still make judgement mistakes. He got solo killed twice and couldn't bring that much damage before he himself got 6. Even if Broxah made a couple bad decisions as even former LEC players do, it is no excuse to focus most of your attention the rest of the game on harassing your teammates. @@KevinTheCardigan Master players can be just as delusional as silver players. Check out any of Agurin's recent videos on his rank 1 Korea soloQ climb (which he maintained for weeks). His mid laners make bad calls, Agurin ignores them, and they end up winning the game. That being said, I do agree that Broxah (not in game, but to his chat) flamed Zed pre-emptively. Zed DID get ganked level 2 by Rek'Sai and then went in when Broxah pinged "OMW" in a play that would have been a 1 for 1 trade on Ahri if Broxah hadn't suddenly pathed up to top. You are going to have to play safe since I can't just sit mid the rest of the game hoping to get you a kill". Looking at the rest of the play, Broxah calls for a permaban at 8:20 at which point Zed has died to a gank by Rek'sai, another gank by Rek'sai (a bad play admittedly), and diving Sion (getting the kill) and barely dying to Sion's passive after the fact. I think Broxah is out of line with his commentary here. At worst Zed has made one slight mis-step at this point (his second death). That being said, after the fact, Zed using his bait pings to distract his teammates wasn't productive either.

@@KevinTheCardigan this is some kind of next level of delusion buddy. No matter what you go through you shouldn't act like a man baby because you lost your lane. There's still other things that can win you a game. Like helping your teammates securing objectives and important kills instead of stealing camps and bait pinging the jungler because OH he DARED change destination along the way to mid to save a dying K'Sante and get a useful double kill top. But ok man, keep deluding yourself about the fact that you are the real protagonist of the game and if you aren't the one carrying, no one should. That even if other lanes need assistance, you should have priority for some reason. That even if you should play safe and slow to not make the situation worse, like any reasonable player would, you don't because "waaah but I'm an assassin I should one shot everyone in 2 seconds get penta and carry waaaah". It's very, very sad. League is a team oriented game. It's sad how many people fail to understand this. P.S. Also you really DEMAND that the creator of the video reply to you? This is a perfect example of how bad League is when it comes to balance of the players. One inting player is enough to bring the 4 good players down. Edit: 16:04 perfectly said it yourself… Edit2: *My theory about players like this Zed is this:* People like him has the most fragile ego imaginable, so the idea of “getting carried for once” feels like an insult to them. So they deliberately throw a winning game, just to feel powerful. Just so they can feel like it was _their_ choice who wins and who loses. Literally just a mindless powertrip. And this Zed starting playing in mid to late? He deliberately threw the early so he can still feel like he was “powerful” enough to decide who wins. But once he can land some last hits and get kills, he feels like he’s the one who is fed. And then he can boast about how he “carried” the late game and won you the game. And if you lost he can just go “because I didn’t want you to win. I wanted I would’ve won” since it was already a winning game. No matter the outcome he just strokes his fragile ass ego. Unbelievable how he is willing to coinflip everyone’s game just so he can revell in his idiotic ego boost. *If anything, this game gives these players this power **_by design,_** thanks to 1 to 4 debacle. And Riot literally **_caters_** to such players by not punishing them.*

Could also be them fearing losing when they're trying their hardest, so instead of trying till the end they give up midway. "Whatever, I wasn't even trying" or "this Elise doesn't deserve the victory so I'm going to make it a loss". That way, they didn't lose because they made a mistake, they lost because they chose to. Just maintaining that sense of control, possibly.

Ignoring your teammates as jungler is pretty toxic. That's a Master Zed OTP he knows when he needs a gank. I honestly think the biggest difference between a gold player and a challenger player is mental. I used to be super toxic in games and now I’m learning that ranting at someone won’t mKe them play better and also recognizing what I have done wrong not only what others do wrong. I’m not totally reformed yet but people like you Broxah have helped me get better.

Hey Broxah, I've been enjoying your content for a while. You are a role model when it comes down to mentality and superb gameplay. I just want to add my thoughts considering the LoL experience when you talked about Riot not banning people. Just think about this, you could most likely upload a video every day with similiar titles like this one. Making my point, I believe the frequency with which disrupting behavior by players like Zed occurs, is just way too much and one of the main reasons why I also am losing interest in LoL. I believe, I started in Season 3 and played ever since. I agree, that one should ignore this behavior and do his best, but adhering to this is mentally draining, and I often find myself not having the energy and patience to deal with this behavior while I am already trying to climb and improve my gameplay. The fact that riot is not banning people for this behavior is problematic, because it basically redirects the negative energy and stress of Zed's kind of behavior to every other player on the team, making LoL feel like a very taxing and frustrating experience, not because it is a challenging and complex game, but because of the social interactions. I find it hard to believe that this will change in the future, because banning people contradicts Riot's economic interests. One more thing I noticed, is that Banning will be a ineffective strategy to prevent this kind of behavior from occurring, because Riot does, in my humble opinion, not work rigorously enough to prevent account buying. Too often I play with my account that is like level 250 and find that around 1/3 of the players in the game are playing on accounts between level 30-40, on which people get upset quickly, ruin games and when they get punished switch to alternative accounts or simply get a new one to evade punishment. Thanks for your content, wishing you the best for the future!

I usually do not deal with people who refuse to play the game and just put them on full mute. I don't reach out to them like you did in this video as I do not have the patience for it, but I respect that you managed to keep a cool head during the whole exchange. Honestly, I think the best way of "beating" toxicity is to not respond to it, at least in between silver-diamond. Let them beat themselves out. Toxicity seems to be different in master+ as I'd imagine most people that high probably takes the game in a more serious manner.

"If one person refuses to win" (16:15) I personally like that Riot changed the game so that it's not dependant on one guy. Means I can't be roflstomped by one smurfing midlaner anymore. But making it so that 4 people can't win against 1 inter, that's.... I don't know man. That feels bad. That feels frustrating. Because not only am I losing insane roflstomp moments myself because my teammates don't take ganks (which, I don't blame them for because I can only improve myself and play with better players, and then I won't have that issue anymore, and surely they are already doing their best, just like I am), I am also losing games and LP and am stuck playing with the same people, the people who I feel like can't understand my plays and flame me for correct choices, longer, because someone lost their mental. TL/DR, it's hard for me to keep my mental up, because I feel like winning isn't good enough for Riot to let me leave the people that try to harass me behind.

You may be right, but if a toxic player like this gets MORE frustrated and obnoxious without ever being called out...they will continue to ruin the game for future teammates. This guy was being extremely disruptive and toxic without anyone in the game really engaging him at all. Imagine how he would've behaved had Broxah or another teammate called him out directly during the game. I can almost guarantee that they would have lost this game. I think Broxah handled this person as perfectly as he could have. The stern talking-to he gave the guy after the game was equal parts understanding and critical. I don't think he could've handled this person any better than he did.

I've had alot of success with getting toxic players banned by writing really detailed reports. I'm guessing that Riot employees who check the reports kind of skip empty ones and pay more attention to ones with notes. And I noticed that the more I keep writing these detailed reports the faster I got a ban response for them, as if I became a "Trustworthy" reporter and they take higher notice of my reports.
