I think I have an idea for why Xeto let stalker leave: Granum’s philosophy is one of avoiding stagnation. He’s seen the corpus stagnate under the rule of his petty bastards and their boards. Of course, he’s a hypocrite, given that he stayed outside of time, stagnating for a long while, but his philosophy? I’d hazard that’s drilled into sister candidates, so when she sees Stalker with this child, what she sees is a potential for things to change. A dramatic shift in the pradigm, which, if she hands it over, will go wasted. Nothing will change. So she takes her opportunity, and holds off the stagnation by ways of the opportunity presented by this child. Or something, i dont know, I’m vaguely drunk and philosophising in my head
@lozmaster64417 ай бұрын

I also think that its more that the corpus under Parvos Granum (who was basically an agrarian slave under the Orokin at birth) just doesn't do slavery. @se7enhaender7 ай бұрын
It works in children of men for that very plot reason. Everyone thought humanity to be sterile. So it sorta works here as well, at least with the knowledge the player has, but at the same time, why would the Corpus suddenly not want this very special baby, given they wanted it, whatever it was, 5 minutes earlier. Sure, it's a shock, but you'd still want it.. Parvos would want it... right? Edit: basically, what I'm trying to say is, unlike with children of men, Stalker's baby _doesn't_ represent a future for mankind that was thought to be non-existent.

Alad probably would do that too. Parvos' forces however does not battle for pure greed no matter the circumstances. They do that for profit and original Granum's ideas, and therefore I think has some boundaries in oppose to what usual Corpus grew to be. Umbra was created at the end of the Sentient War. Stalker was definitely created during the first stage of the Sentients arrival. Basically 1st gen warframe including the Primes. And was brainwashed or mindwiped cuz the quest confirm that he really did forgotten who he was and purpose. We know Jade was used as a means of execution based on her entry, this quest, and the gamemode of the Jade light. If you go back to Lotus talking how the Stalker went mad in the Second Dream was probably when his REAL memories appeared and finding out wtf he was after being partially mindwiped or brainwashed. And then when Jade saved him, his memories of who he was originally aside from just a low guardian that served the orokin... he was in a relationship with Jade.

Like Zime pointed out, Hunhow has been less and less bad lately. From his actions and dialogue, such as "the great and terrible hunhow" said so laboriously, it almost feels like despite not wanting to admit it, he feels deep regret and he's trying to repent in his own way. He doesnt call himself the "terrible hunhow" like a warlord would (though perhaps that is intent), he says it in a way that's incredibly genuine. He has been a conqueror and force to be reckoned with, carving a place out in the universe for his people, but having to face the reality of what he did, and his children, and what they faced and the decisions they made, he's been forced to reflect on the terror he's wrought

Does seem like a very fasinating quest and the implications that could come from this. Going off the guess of "the baby will be grown up after we return from 1999 because time travel shenanigans," I have one of two guesses: The first seems the most likely which is "The baby grows up and becomes a new syndicate leader" of sorts. A new faction that they are in control of, but to what extent would definitely be taking wild guesses. Otherwise the grown up baby could just be another story critical character, but they definitely would likely do more with the baby than just "this is why Stalker does this now" and that's it. There are some big implications from this, but hard to say what the full extent will be, but it will make the events of 1999 even more closely watched (especially when we wrap up the quest). The other guess that is so out of left field that I doubt it will actually happen would be... The Stalker was carrying the next playable warframe. The idea of us naming a future Warframe and how the same warframe could have two different names depending on the choice you made here (And could serve as our "Playable Stalker Warframe that isn't Stalker" or a "Stalker Lite"). I doubt there would be anymore significance beyond that like "the same warframe but two different movesets depending on the choice made" but it would be interesting to consider if perhaps this warframe could have some of Stalker's moves while also a bit of Jade's (or a variation) so that you have a hybrid of sorts. That could be fascinating to see play out in the future, but like I said, out of left field guess and doubtful it would actually happen. Either way, Tennocon is going to be interesting to watch unfold if this is our quest before we get more details on Warframe 1999.

Given what we seen they never got a link. We know all warframes were semi sentient at some point and the tenno helped ease them and calm them, both sorren and jade had their memories and could talk, something not even umbra could do. Your spy mission and my spy mission were very different. The final hallway for me was all lasers, floor to/and ceiling, with overlapping laser walls going up and down. @.@ I don't agree with the QTE around 22:10, but whatever. ------- Spoilers (if you're reading comments before watching this video, wtf is wrong with you, go watch the video!) ------- Technically, with this reveal, that means my clan (Stalkers Anonymous, very old clan) is actually a bunch of uncles. >D Pregnant warframes: There's a heavy implication that Sorren and Jade were together before becoming warframes. It is confirmed that a bunch of people were invested into warframes, similar to how a bunch of people were converted into cephalons, and bound to a singular purpose. Voruna for example was bound to a warframe to act as a warden to keep people from interrupting the Continuity rituals that allowed the Orokin to transfer themselves from an ailing body to a new host. Dagath likewise was invested into a warframe to act as a Dax for some rich people who eventually didn't like her face and carved a hole through her head. My guess is that Jade and Sorren were in a taboo relationship, Jade got pregnant, and when their Orokin masters heard about this illicit affair, they were transferred into warframes to enact a purpose. Jade remained Jade and became a matronly angelic figure representing life (1 is a heal zone, 2 is a buff aura, 3 is a literal revive), while Sorren became the Stalker, a figure of death that strikes fear in others by killing those who attempt to break the order of the system and its masters. It's implied that Ballas is responsible for this warframe nonsense. We know he was an asshole. It's entirely possible that he did this conversion specifically knowing that Jade was pregnant on the chance that the pregnancy would carry over to the warframe, but more likely he did it to spite the two and ruin her pregnancy. Now, Stalker has lost Jade, gained a child (after centuries? How long has it been since the fall of the Orokin? Longest pregnancy ever though), and is left to wander the system to keep his son safe. I fully expect us to be helping him in the future. Sorren's hatred for us probably stems from his and Jade's eternal imprisonment within their new bodies, bound to a singular purpose. Without the Tenno resurfacing and the warframe project by Ballas, there wouldn't be warframes to be imprisoned in. But we might come to an understanding at some point as fatherhood mellows him out a bit.
@MadeUpNoun7 ай бұрын
1:00 they make it very clear the reason Stalker hates the Tenno is because we tried to kill him, but Jade came in to defend him and in turn taking mortal wounds. Stalker hates the Tenno because it was one of us who hurt Jade. also about the pregnancy, the player specifically says she isn't fighting what ever it is thats draining her energy, its possible that for all this time she had fought feeding the baby energy, again possibly part of the Orokin's sick ploy to punish them, lose the baby or lose the mother. but eventually Jade decided that it was time to let go
@Feynt7 ай бұрын
@@MadeUpNoun The only thing the intro confirms is that an Excal got the better of the Stalker in a fight and Jade stepped in to protect him. That may have been THE Excal way back when, or it may have been a recent one and Jade appearing for that intervention is the cause of her situation at the beginning of the quest. I'm more inclined to believe the latter because it's kind of the only way she could have made it so long without the Stalker knowing how to help her. If this was a consistent issue since the fall of the Orokin, I can't see her surviving that long. But what drove the Stalker to attack us in the first place is still uncertain. Again, I feel it's the stigma of the warframes (piloted by creepy void touched kids) combined with them being yet another prison of personality like being converted into a cephalon. The implications of each warframe's story is that their progenitor had some unique personality and was punished somehow, or their punishment was never mentioned but they lived as subservient members of a caste with a dedicated purpose. Jade and Sorren being together, then invested into warframes just makes the most sense to me for why he hates the Tenno. He hates us, because he hates himself for what he and Jade had become, and that wouldn't have been possible without someone making the warframes in the first place to accommodate our space magic.

Also, the bit at the end is absurd. Why try to walk straight towards the gun instead of taking advantage of the ABUNDANT cover to either side while tossing Despair over in their general direction? Additionally, there is no way the sound of a baby would convince a corpus unit to stop firing. Even beyond that, there is no way they would allow the Tenno slayer and the unknown life form to escape.

33:44 Have feeling like Warframe 1999 is not typical Time Travel but alternate dimension where events similar to Origin System events, happends but on past Earth. And instead warframes, we have using void powers, super agents. Its much more like Marvel Noir Series.
@toagradius88567 ай бұрын
A lot of people are saying the ending is their favorite part, but some things about it are so silly to me. The Corpus are characterized as being cartoonishly over the top evil, especially in Fortuna. I don’t really find it believable they’d suddenly grow a conscious and let a possible science experiment walk off scott-free like that. Not to mention how it’s even possible they parked a capital ship on the surface of a Grineer-controlled planet, but that’s more of a nitpick, admittedly.
@scottcheng23657 ай бұрын
I think that planet is not grineer controlled if hunhow/stalker based there and its often shown the factions don't often openly engage hostilities without a good reason. The corpus are characterised as being cartoonishly greedy more than evil, if they can get profit, they'll take it. In this case perhaps the very fact there was a live newborn in this world.
@colossaldonut51907 ай бұрын
Yeah I think it’s supposed to show some human element to the Sisters of Parvos but it felt very out of left field for an NPC that we had no reason to believe even had a conscious.

Remember that the operation was being led by a woman swayed by Parvos Granam, the most realistically culty cult man in all of Warframe (Ballas simply wore the cult robe and dominated everyone through force, I don't count him). Dude tries his best to feel like a warm hug on a Friday afternoon, and he didn't even need to but he did because that's just who he is. He's sympathetic, reasonable and dedicated to eradicating the corruption from within the corpus. ... And people believe that, including Xeto. Even though he's none of what I just said, she's directly aligned with him and his carefully constructed philosophies, so I can imagine that like many people are when they're swayed into a cult, she's a much more reasonable person than the normal corpus fare. She's an actual example of the mindset that Parvos is peddling towards. She probably wasn't anyone of power until he came back.

The general plot points of the quest were interesting. But the pacing completely ruined any impact it could've had other than a big "wtf" The things we learned about the stalker were really light snd immediately overshadowed by the "wtf". The ascension mission itself is giving more interesting lore than the quest itself, which is a shame

One of the things to note that while stalker can just pop up in our house he probably knows he can't kill us at this point like he will continue to be a dick and mess with us on missions but getting rid of us permanently is not something Stalker or Hunhow have really figured out.

Yeah that quest made no sense what so ever. The pregnancy was a secret, yet she has her stomach fashioned to account for it with a glass view to boot?, Warframes are infested humans that got their exterior appearance later by Orokin yet the baby doesn't look like a infested zombie rather fully "fashioned"., multiple universes colliding makes zero impact here coz this had nothing to do with the void nor is there any implication of it., how does pretty much ANY corpus aside from Alad know in detail what someone needs to "play doctor" to a Warframe especially some random captain?, why would the cult worshipping money or anyone in it (aside for maybe Parvos himself or a sister) NOT take in stalker and jade baby to study and rip and strip for parts? I do agree this quest raised some new questions, mainly to the story writers, mainly: "Are you high?" Anyway, a spy mission and a reused boss fight with a contraction minigame at the end a good quest is not. Edit: How come jade is alive and aware and her death is a concern while being a Warframe? This implies she has memories or an Operator neither of which would be destroyed by Warframe childbirth disintegrating her coz look what happened when Ballas tried to destroy a Warframe with memories. Yeah, we just re-made him and he still retains his memories, so aside from bad writing, why can't we do the same for jade?

You're supposed to call this story a masterpiece because that's what the Warframe cult wants. They act like North Koreans, praising everything simply because it's what they're supposed to do. The story was trash. Could've been good had DE wanted to tell a deep story that actually focused on Sorren and Jade and actually dealt with their relationship, their coming child, the Orokin reaction, how they became Warframes, and why Stalker was still loyal and hated the Tenno. But DE is simple-minded and surface-level in their storytelling. They're mediocre storytellers, just like their core gameplay is mediocre (not because of what it offers, but because of the level of quality of the core gameplay).

Do you think they considered for a moment the implications of taking over jade as operator if she's umbra like.. much less during her contractions..

I think DE dropped all pretenses to consistency when Valkyrie, basically a corpus attempt at a warframe, was primed lmao. The whole point was that she was a conglomerate/ frankstein warframe as opposed to one made by the orokin.

How about somehow we end up taking the baby back to 1999, but through other time travelling shenanigans we lose it some time between now and then. Later it turns out that we were the baby all along and stalker is actually our dad. The operator is either Sirius or Orion, depending on your choice, and the drifter was named whichever name you didn't choose. And that's also why we are "more special" than other Tenno.

Look, I just gotta be 100% here. Why did DE choose the operater to do transference here and not the drifter? There's something that just makes me feel very uncomfortable about having the motions of child birth be felt by the variant of my character who themself is also still a child. The entire quest otherwise would be completely perfect and I love it, but this one thing I keep getting hung up on because it makes no sense... It's either the worst oversight in history, or I'm gonna have plenty more questions for the writers...

If we're going to believe that somehow Stalker and Jade created a child... I want Hildryn and Rhino to conceive as well. Maybe Khora and Oberon too. Trinity and Oberon? Cult of the Lamb introduced a sex update, let's see if DE does it too. Instead of Helminth, we get Bedroom. Please don't DE... Do we really need to balloon from 57 Warframes to a few thousand in a single update? Dear lord, please no. I don't think my wallet can handle the amount of Forma, Potato, Exilus, Booster, and such I'd need to make a build for everyone.
@electricisnthereatthemomen65355 ай бұрын
warframes themselves can’t get pregnant, but when being turned into one under the helminth strain, the woman and child DO unfortunately together become the Warframe, In Jade’s case she was the original jade that was Sorren’s wife, so she had an actual living baby inside of her that she sacrificed her life for When we build jade it’s more like a… synthetic replication of the baby
@johncarver3577 ай бұрын
im guessing the reason why the stalker hates the tenno is because they robbed him of the chance to topple the Orokin for himself because besides that retcon from loyal guard to vengeful daddy, i have no idea how to explain why he'd hate the Tenno instead of the people who turned his pregnant wife and the child inside of her into Warframes
