@@catherineelly2659🙄 This has nothing to do with a series, for crying out loud. It’s an honorable Buddhist tradition that many young Thai men go through. Just because they showed it in that series has nothing to do with Mew being ordained today.

Seems like tuls mom adores Mew so much. The way she is looking at Mew & talking with him while cutting hair. Wow whole family is supporting Mew tul. First time in my life Time seeing such family exist. It's like real fairly tail story Mew tul & their families are example for today's queer couple & families. It was with great respect and joy that I was able to see the photos and videos of Mew Suppasit's ordination as a Buddhist monk. He has embarked on a spiritual journey to devote himself fully to meditation, the study of the Buddha's teachings and the search for inner peace. Through this journey, Mew is once again demonstrating his depth of heart and his desire to grow in wisdom and kindness. We know how much this commitment represents a moment of transformation for him, an opportunity to recharge his spiritual batteries, and an approach that inspires deeply. We wish him serenity and light in this precious quest. May these weeks bring him lasting spiritual richness and peace. May we all keep Mew in our thoughts, and may we wish him a path to fulfilment and a return to what is essential.

I have to told that everyone in comment section. That don't compare to this with tharnetype scene. This is thai tradition & every one does in Thailand in their life time it is not just for married but also before some important steps taking in life. Short version: He is being ordained into a monastery to become a monk for a short time. Longer version: It is a Buddhist tradition where young adult men will be ordained into a monastery as a monk for a short period of time (Mew will be there 2-4 weeks). There are many reasons a man may choose to do it. It is often done to thank and honor parents and family, as it is a very respected tradition and shows appreciation for their support and guidance and offers great merit. Men also often choose to be ordained prior to marriage or to honor and acknowledge other significant life events, like a loss of a family member or recovering from a severe illness. While he’s in there, Mew will live as a monk, meditating, studying the dharma (Buddhist scripture) not speaking, not taking meals after a certain time of day, going out to collect food daily, etc… It’s seen as an opportunity for personal, spiritual growth and enlightenment. Tul was ordained when he was 18, I think. So he has been through this already.

Mereka sebutnya MERIT (Sansekerta: puṇya; Pali: puñña) adalah sebuah konsep yang dianggap mendasar dalam etika Buddhis. Ini adalah kekuatan yang bermanfaat dan melindungi yang terakumulasi sebagai akibat dari perbuatan, tindakan, atau pikiran yang baik. Perbuatan baik merupakan hal yang penting dalam praktik Buddhis: perbuatan baik membawa hasil yang baik dan menyenangkan, menentukan kualitas kehidupan selanjutnya dan berkontribusi pada pertumbuhan seseorang menuju pencerahan. Selain itu, pahala juga dibagikan kepada orang tercinta yang telah meninggal, guna membantu almarhum dalam kehidupan barunya. Meskipun ada modernisasi, perbuatan baik tetap penting di negara-negara Buddhis tradisional dan mempunyai dampak yang signifikan terhadap perekonomian pedesaan di negara-negara tersebut.

@@BlessedLee7 Usually it just 3 months to be a Monk and doing what a Monks did in daily basis. It’s a temporary because they do that for Sacrifice in the name of good deeds for a Family. Only for a Unmarried man or soon to be married man in the family. (That’s what I remembered) 😅

A good son must ordain to repay his parents' kindness. The parents will go to heaven and find only happiness. Everything is the willingness of a good son.

It’s part of giving of yourself. The hair and eyebrows and his clothes. He like most Thai men after age 20 get ordained. Some become full time monks. Some don’t. Why is mew doing this? Why now? Getting ordained is a huge part of his culture. The ceremony is very traditional. The hair and clothes are taken. Blessings are offered. This is done for many reasons so I’ll try to explain why new would do this. Doing this is a way to honor your parents. If you are to be married it is also done to honor your future spouse’s family as well. It is a time you commit yourself to learning the teachings of your faith. Buddhism. He as part of it gives up his worldly processions like money etc. so he will stay at the temple for 3 weeks alone meditating and learning and after will return to his life but with a better understanding of his faith

This is a common tradition done by thai buddhist males to give honor and merit to their parents before getting married. Mew will only be a monk for about 3 weeks then he’ll be back to his normal life.

Yes you’re right it is his culture. Most Thai men do this after age 20. Some do become full time monks some don’t. In mew’s case his culture for ordination is done for his reasons as per tradition. It is to show honor to his parents. To show honor to tul’s family. To commit himself to the teachings of Buddhism.( like when Catholics do first communion). He will stay there for 3 weeks and meditate and work and learn. This is also done prior to a marriage which makes sense , why now. For that period his hair is removed from his head and eyebrows and his clothes. He can’t touch money or worldly goods. After his time has ended he will go back to his life as an actor but with a better understanding of his faith. Hope this helps you understand a little
