This is exactly an aspect that is not given enough attention, perhaps even in comics: Batman *is* supposed to be a great gumshoe, with an eye for detail and good investigation skills. A very solid sequel to Batman, a more darker, more violent and more atmospheric with a lot of style. I don't understand why some hate the movie for its more darker brutal elements. What the filmmakers were going for is a more darker, more violent and more fearful take on Batman and they did a fantastic job on it. Michael Keaton is soo damn awesome as Batman I wish he had his own Batman trilogy instead of 2.
@Shanethefilmmaker6 жыл бұрын
McDonald's. That's the answer to that question. While the first one had dark elements in it, it wasn't enough to scare kids. So Bats, Joker and the like were able to sell movie based merch in McDonald's. However they upped the ante making the scenes more scarier and sometimes even more sexual. And McDonald's advertised the tie-in toys before the movie was out. So needless to say, kids were hyped, parents were paying and they took their kids to the movie. They got scared, parents complained and Tim and Mike were fired as a result. Kinda Ironic, McDonald's nearly cost Michael Keaton a career and now he's famous for playing the guy that cost the McDonald Brothers a restaurant.

On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Those that reject redemption will go to hell. John 1:1-3,10 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [2] The same was in the beginning with God. Batman Forever was more of a comedy movie, which is why Michael turn it down. I don’t blame him, Batman isn’t a funny guy as Ant Man or Thor.

For those who don’t know; Vichyssoise is a soup like mixture made of boiled and puréed leeks, onions, potatoes, cream, and chicken stock. While it can be eaten cold, it doesn’t HAVE to be cold. It can also be eaten hot. Another fun fact; vichyssoise is also the soup Remy fixes during his first appearance at Gusteaus.

This is one of the things I like about this movie - the fact that we get JUST enough of a hint of the Penguin's previous life to allow us to fill in some of the blanks ourselves. These days, we'd get it all spelled out for us in every particular; here, the screenwriter is intelligent and knows we don't need to know everything, just the important stuff. We don't need to know exactly how Oswald fell in with the Red Triangle Circus, how he corrupted them into his own personal gang of goons, where he got his tech, all that stuff - it's not important to his character. (In fact, there's a deleted bit of dialogue where Batman flat-out asks him about it, and he just kind of brushes him off, like 'why would I tell YOU?'.) What's important is that he has a past with them, and that he's done sinister stuff during that past - the rest is only inferred, and it's more effective that way.

I always loved this very small scene that shows the humanity of both of them. Bruce will sometimes catch himself still being the little spoiled rich kid whom Alfred raised, pampered and nurtured. As soon as Alfred made a small bit of sense, Bruce accepts it completely and forgets about it instantly because he trusts Alfred more than anyone in his world. He didn't give his opinion on it or make any remarks about it. He instantly humbles himself and continues eating the soup. Almost feeling foolish because he caught himself being a snob for a split second 🤣. It shows Bruce's humility and instant sense of logic always overcoming his own desire.

I must say, I prefer this look of the Batcave than the look in Batman (1989). Actually, this look reminds me more of the Batcave in Batman: The Animated Series, which of course premiered the same year as Batman Returns. Wonder if BTAS based their Batcave on this design.

it blows my mind that Michael Gough was Alfred Pennyworth, and in the 1960's was the Celestial Toymaker in Doctor Who and at one time married to Anneke Wills.

BTAS took a whole lot of inspiration from Burton's films~
@foldabotZ3 жыл бұрын
BTAS was made in response to the success of the 1989 film. While Bruce Timm and co wanted to go with their vision of the Dark Knight, the Burton movies did still serve some inspiration. Like the Art Deco Noir aesthetic, the batcave, the gadgets, and Batman himself. The Watchtower Database, a channel dedicated to the DCAU, did an entire video on the subject.
