I am glad to know I am not rhe only one who cried hearing this song. I thought about the people I have lost during the pandemic, my friends that passed through the years and trying to cope with my own struggles over the past few years. Here's to what I hope is a better 2022 for us all.

This song came on my Spotify feed today. I hadn't heard it in years. I instantly broke down in tears thinking of my Dad I lost in 2018. Beautiful song!

Bruce Hornsby has always been an inspiration to Justin. Pretty evident in Beth/Rest and he mentions in some interviews. Must be an amazing feeling for him to work with Hornsby with his old band reunited. He's been a long long way

There are a statistically significant number of people on this planet who are unable to have an emotional response to music; I feel so lucky to not fit into that category. I would never want to listen to this song and not feel the pain, the joy, the hopefulness, and the loss it communicates.

The Irishness that people mention in Bruce's singing is also kin to the bluegrass roots of the song, like so many other Dead songs hailing from Garcia's banjo-loving sensibilities. Lends itself to so many ideas, there are gospel/spiritual elements to this cover, and the key and progression is such an uplifting one. The sampling and piano definitely flavor it with that contemplative psychedelia that any Dead head could love. Imagining it soundtracking a run in the mountains :).
