At the launch of Nicolas Brasch's 2014 book, 'Horses in Australia', the legendary photographer for The Age, Bruce Postle, tells the story behind one of the most iconic photographs in Australian history: Tommy Woodcock in the stable of champion racehorse Reckless on the day before the 1977 Melbourne Cup.

Bruce was a laugh a minute - I had seen Bruce for many years on jobs & had laughs ; With bits of gear , always being lost ... Onya Bruce .
