still it's the fault of the turner execs because he didn't buy the whole wcw . all he bought was the letters wcw and the library because of the insane contracts the stars were under .

I can tell you when WCW died for me personally. "Butts in the seats" was the absolute last time I ever changed back and forth. I recently went back and watched WCW Nitro from that point on. I didn't miss much except a few really good debuts.

Who cares? Well apparently wwe studios and the rock care, they produced the freaking thing. Also people who remember WWE having legit competition care, it made WWF product which became super stale with some bright spots along the last 20 some odd years

@@aadilharoon1807 Uhh do you know why shows almost always get canceled on TV? It's because people aren't watching them. If a show has high ratings, TV networks tend to want to keep them on the air, because they like the advertising revenue they bring in.

People keep bringing up the $4 million number and in an actuality the WCW license wasn't worth shit to anyone outside of the wrestling bubble. Anyone that bought the company did not get the top guys because they all had ridiculously inflated contracts that turner still ended up having to pay and even the WWE with he money they were making did not want to bring those guys in to buy them out of their current contracts and take on their payroll until they ran out. So in actuality Vince bought a tape library which he couldn't profit off of until decades later and a bunch of mid card talent that wanted to still work. Even if Eric had the $40 million or whatever he claimed he had to buy the company no one wanted to put WCW on television and that was always going to be the death blow. Vince's plan wa to buy WCW and then get a TV rights deal and put it on as a third brand and no one wanted to touch it. If Vince couldn't find anything why do people think Eric could?

I know Turner/Time Warner/AOL wasn't going to give WCW its slots on TNT and TBS back for sure I'm not that Eric couldn't find a network that wouldn't at least consider WCW. But absolutely correct to say read Nitro a great peak behind the curtain for a ton of info that wasn't know for a long time or never believed when talked about.

Second of all, I can empathize for those people because I’m sure many wrestlers that never got a shot at WWE had their careers cut short forever fizzling out in the indies. Lastly, for 25 years old you should speak about what you know, like Tik Toc, being Woke, identifying as something that you’re not, you know; all the things you’ll regret once your youth runs out…cheers!

@@jblassiohe's young, but he's correct. The lower salaried employees don't care WHY WCW went out of business. They just care that it went out of business because they had no say so or any power in changing what happened as opposed to the higher ups making the bad choices that over time chipped away at WCW's longevity.

Exactly... Who Cares! I have a few PPVs and Nitros before and after "Butts in the seats" and really I agree it's good for those who suffer from insomnia because guaranteed to knock you out from boredom in ten minutes. There are a couple of Gems here and there but man 2000 and what was left over from 2001was the ultimate pits. All the while Wwe had the attitude era and I can assure you the product was miles better that I've seen people who can't speak English get drawn in and later go around saying "Oh you didn't know" 😅

Ever wonder way multiple stories aren’t written for each star? That way if someone gets hurt it’s not a seemless transition? Instead of the shitty excuses that stories go to hell when someone gets hurt…Seems like they could take advantage of that situation in fantastic story ways……

The only reason bruce has a job is because of wcw, almost everything wwe did from 1996-2006 was copied from wcw. The only reason wwe "won" is because vince loved the business and AOL didnt.

I feel like that documentary is trolling everyone everytime they show an AOL computer screen as the real answer to who killed it. It was the incoming AOL execs made up of west coast feminists and progressives horrified by how low brow rasslin’ was, even more than the Turner execs who stomached it under Ted for years.
