I have been in love with a man for 26 years. Anything and everything has happened to us. We divorced after the crash of 08. We never fell out of love. It took years but we put our family and relationship back together and remarried in November. Recently is was feeling like it might not have e been the best decision. He has anger issues. I was so sad and remembered this song. I played it for him. He heard it. And apologized for behaving badly. My only question....why does heartache have to be so rough. Why can't love be the fairy tale we are told? Marriage is not an easy road.

We need to learn to treat our spouse kinder than we do other people. We are supposed to be a cheerleader for each other. My husband and I have celebrated 38 years of marriage. We did separate and almost divorce. Now, it is me and him together (with Jesus in the middle) against the world

I always liked this song. I was in Austin in the early 2000s and was a huge fan of the Robison bros. but now... well, Kelly and Bruce are divorced. And Charlie's gone. Now this song just makes my heart heavier than it used to.

The first time I heard with was on the radio with Tim McGraw. I loved the lyrics, as I know a lot of folks can relate. Then I found Bruce and Kelly singing it. This by far the best and I wish it got played on radio. Kelly has one of the most pure voices I've ever heard.

Austin was comparable to this song when Blake Shelton 1st came on the scene...as far as "powerful imo" kinda thing. But this 1 is more "valuable" to me cuz Idk any other song from him or her and like other great songs, it def stood test of time cuz hearing it again after all these years, along with the perfect...video! Perfect cuz its so simple and self explanatory (enough at least) and looks like they spent little, but produced greatness 👍👍 and they did a great job portraying this troubled couple! Plus, years ago, I could relate to both sides, and I had/have 4 kids. I used to tell my ex husband this song I dedicate to u! True story! I tried n tried but I just couldn't get past his being...angry all the time 🤬. Which inevitably comes with all kinds of abuse and 1 can only take so much! Seeing this again after 20 years was powerful too...and yikes the fact that these 2 now look like babies to me! Time flies..its a blink!

Here we are What is left of a husband and a wife with four good kids Who have a way of gettin on with their lives And I'm not old but I'm getting a whole lot older every day It's too late to keep from goin' crazy I've got to get away The reasons that I can't stay, don't have a thing to do with being in love And I understand that lovin' a man shouldn't have to be this rough And you ain't the only one who feels like this world's left you far behind I don't know why you gotta be angry all the time Our boys are strong now, the spittin' image of you when you were young I hope someday they can see past what you have become I remember every time I said I'd never leave But what I can't live with is memories of the way you used to be The reasons that I can't stay, don't have a thing to do with being in love I understand that lovin a man shouldn't have to be this rough You ain't the only one who feels like this world's left you far behind I don't know why you gotta be angry all the time Twenty years, have came and went, since I walked out of your door I never quite made it back, to the one I was before And God it hurts me to think of you For the light in your eyes was gone And sometimes I don't know why this old world can't leave well enough alone The reasons that I can't stay, don't have a thing to do with being in love And I understand that lovin, a man shouldn't have to be this rough You ain't the only one who feels like this world's left you far behind I don't know why you gotta be angry all the time [Repeat x3]
