LET ME START OFF BY SAYING: the pinned comment on this video has all my thoughts for BatCat, etc. So if you're wondering why the description here is only talking about the finale, it's because YT literally wouldn't let me have a description THAT long.
BUT OH MY GOD!!!???? Let's appreciate that one of the TWO times Bruce actually said something in this episode, it was to Selina and he wasn't even PRETENDING to be someone else like he was hiding is identity with Jim! and STALKING HER ACROSS GOTHAM, LIKE THAT WAS ONE OF HIS MAIN PRIORITIES WHEN GETTING BACK TO THE CITY DON'T TOUCH ME. DON'T EVEN LOOK AT ME. THIS IS EXACTLY THE ENDING I WANT. IT WAS EMOTIONAL, BUT PERFECTLY SET UP WHAT IS GOING TO BE A LIFETIME PUSH AND PULL I'M SO OVERWHELMED!!
LILI WAS AMAZING!! I had a good ol' sulk last week when I found out they really were going to replace Camren (I was in a denial phase) but the note Camren wrote on twitter and just from Lili's performance, you can tell how dedicated Lili was to getting the character right and she just blew me the hell away. Part of me really wanted to hate her portrayal out of spite but lmfao no matter WHO plays Selina Kyle, I will fucking fall in love in an instant and regardless, she absolutely nailed it.
Here's what I DIDN'T like: WHAT WAS IN THE FUCKING LETTER!!! WHY did we overhear a letter Bruce wrote to Alfred in the first 20 seconds of the episode and NOT the one he left Selina, like this shit is going to plague me for the rest of my life ASDKFAJDSFL

Selina hated that he still had that effect on her after 10 years. He was the only person she let in and she thought she walled herself off after that. It's part of what makes the Bruce and Selina thing so addicting to fans, think back to all the movies and comics that use this ship. The obvious is Bruce bending good morals for her but it's the other side of the coin that makes this relationship so interesting. Selina can't walk away from him, she tries and fails in every media they are in. Michelle Pfeiffers tries and winds up staying in gotham to watch over him. Ann Hathaway's version tries to betray him scraggly times and ends up leaving her entire way of life just to be with him and the shows version is even better. She 10 years of telling herself she's over him, she breaks the moment he returns. Bruce may love Selina, but Selina only knows happiness with Bruce

This is going to be painful and heartbreaking to type out. I've already been crying all week because Gotham is ending and that episode DID NOT HELP AT ALL!! I guess I'll start by saying that, full disclosure, I started watching this show specifically FOR the BatCat relationship. I was 16 when the trailer for Gotham first dropped and while I had never really picked up one of the comics (I really just had no idea where to start) or been entirely involved with the movies growing up, I was always so intrigued by the dynamic between Batman and Catwoman. In fact, that sort of relationship "trope" has quickly become my favourite and I latch onto any ship with a similarity to it. So to be able to see their story that starts SO different from the comics and whatnot sold me on the show. I, of course, ended up falling for pretty much every other aspect of the show (IF YOU KNOW ME PERSONALLY OR HAVE BEEN READING MY PAST DESCRIPTIONS, I KNOW I BITCH ABOUT THIS SHOW A LOT BUT THE LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP IS REAL KSDFJSLDF) but these two are what always kept me coming back and staying even when plots were just like.... why? Their relationship for me was also a huge rollercoaster. It almost feels like this was also MY relationship; every time they had a falling out and came back together, I felt it. I have had SO MANY issues with how some of their dynamic was handled. I almost want to just delete S3 from my mind, especially the finale but S4 really repaired everything I feared may be lost and this current season just... validated everything. It made all the ups and downs, all the heartache, ALL the second guessing WORTH IT. My issues were mostly with how Bruce couldn't understand Selina when, as I had understood it (and yes, I've read comics and watched movies since starting, I promise you I am certified BatCat trash now) Batman was supposed to be the only one who could see through Catwoman's act. He knew that there was more to her than just a thief. Knew that she was better than what she pretended to be. Knew he could trust her to let his 1000 fucking walls down with, and it almost felt like Gotham dropped the ball on that a couple of times. With the continuous use of Bruce saying "Selina wouldn't understand" this or "Selina only cares about herself" I was a MASSIVE FUCKING QUESTION MARK??? BECAUSE NO BITCH??? During S3, I told myself time and time again that maybe this was just a set up. MAYBE Gotham was doing this on purpose because this version of BatCat is so much younger than their other iterations and it's going to take time for Bruce to be able to see Selina for who she truly was. And I think that's what happened here. I only say I think because I don't really trust that the writers thought this through back when they were writing S1-3 lmfao. SEASON FOUR HOWEVER!! BOY did they really come into their future selves in more ways than I had anticipated. The 401 rooftop scene remains in my top three favourite BatCat scenes of the entire series. It showed a lot of growth on Bruce's part and was a major stepping stone into what their relationship is going to be. With Selina balancing on one foot on the VERY EDGE of the rooftop and daring Bruce to say something about it... and him just keeping his Mouth Shut For Once made me SO FUCKING GIDDY? The whole season in general though. They both grew, both learned how to handle each other more and the maturity was so fucking needed at that point. NOW TO CRY ABOUT SEASON 5: If you've seen my past BatCat vids for this season and read the descriptions for them, then you know most of my thoughts on how they have progressed (shoutout to Sam and Jade who have put up with my bullshit in private lmfao) however to summarise: this season was an absolute gift. Their quotes, their scenes, their parallels, all of it was just SO BREATHTAKING that I can't actually pinpoint what my favourite scene of the season is. I can't even choose my top FIVE that's how fucking good we had it!! This season was everything I have wanted. This season is what I had HOPED to see when I first started watching. This season was the payoff and I'm just so overcome with emotions. I was so afraid while editing BatCat this season that I might get burnt out and half-ass videos in order to just keep up with the weekly videos but I didn't... at all. Every SINGLE episode uplifted me, even when they were at their lowest points (because Ahem it was very BatCat). TO SUM THIS MONSTER OF AN ESSAY UP, I want to thank Gotham for giving this version of BatCat to us. I've cried, lost sleep, dedicated SO MUCH time into them and I don't regret a damn thing. Most of all, if it weren't for BatCat, I (probably) wouldn't have watched Gotham and I therefore never would have met Sam and Jade. And I hate to think about where I might or might not be if I had not had them in my life. This will not be my last video for them! I might take a huge ass break because I know depression hours are going to hit me fucking hard and I'm not sure how long it'll be before I can look at them again without crying but I WILL BE BACK WITH MORE BATCAT IN THE FUTURE! 🖤 Thank you for bearing with me and watching my videos (especially if you've watched them every week, like I fucking love you) I appreciate it so much!!

I relate so so so much to pretty much everything you've just said. I also started watching Gotham because of Batcat, their dynamic really intrigued me in a way. I really hope that we get another movie or maybe even a tv show about Batman where they use this version of Batcat where they also have history together and not just meet one day as Batman and Catwoman. Also thank you for all your amazing video's over the years, they really have been kind of "healing" if that makes sense. Anyway, gonna sit in a corner and cry now 😭❤️

Bruce and Selina are both madly in love with each other and it shows in the finale, Selina completely confirmed it on the rooftop that she loves him and Bruce also makes it obvious with his actions. The first thing he does upon returning to Gotham is check on Selina. Selina also feels his presence and knows he is watching her. Even after 10 years she still knows when he is around. The next big thing Bruce does is letting her know that he's Batman. A secret that only two other people know and that's Alfred and Lucius. If Bruce didn't love Selina anymore or just wanted nothing to do with her, he would not have allowed her to know, but he does and he doesn't even try to hide it. On the rooftop Selina confesses how she feels about Bruce and begs for him to say something. He says that there was no other choice and he had to leave, she then asks him what happens between them now? Earlier at the Wayne Gala she told Alfred that he can't just leave for 10 years and return and act as if nothing happened, and Alfred agreed. Bruce would also know this wouldn't be fair and says that he doesn't know what will happen next but he also says that he will never leave Gotham again which can be taken as that he will never leave HER again and upon hearing those words Selina's facial expression changes to an almost look of relief. Before anything else happens Bruce says "Return the Diamond" and vanishes, Selina gets a grin on her face knowing that those simple words have a deeper meaning than they let on. It confirms that that he was watching her steal the diamond and he was looking after her since he got back. Selina then smiles and playfully says "Like hell" after he's gone. This playful exchange shows that BatCat lives on even after the 10 years and the two still care deeply for each other. It will take time for them to return to how they were before Bruce left Gotham but Bruce isn't going anywhere and wants Selina in his life. It's time for the Bat and the Cat to play.

Well I don't think he told her he was Batman simply because at that point Gotham hasn't even heard of the Batman yet This is Bruce's Year 1 2nd Night of being Batman but however instead of talking to her with his voice modifier on like he did with Gordon he instead turned it off and spoke to her using his real voice

It was going to be hard for me to look past the recast but Lili did fantastic and blew my expectations out of the water. She genuinely looks like an older Camren and I hope to see her and Cam play Selina again. I'm so happy that the show ended on a positive note for BatCat. The FIRST thing Bruce did was check up on her and it's painfully obvious they both care for each other still. The smile at the end shows that their relationship is far from over.

This was an incredible clip, and ending to a beautiful show. Lili Simmons (the new Selina actress) did incredible given the circumstances and it shows the dynamic of their relationship and love continuing after Bruce's return, the small grin at the end says it all really. The two love each other so much and it's what makes these two perfect for each other. I'm glad we got closure because the last episode damn near ripped my heart out but this was great closure that was definitely needed. Thank you to David, Camren, Lili and to everyone at Gotham for making this wonderful show. BatCat will live on forever!

Damn, this one hit me harder than the last one. I feel the same way about BatCat, their relationship being so real and intriguing, I will always love them for what they have made me feel over these past 5 years. I'd love so much for there to be more of this brilliant show, yet I know that I would NEVER be satisfied and would want more, that's why I'm content with how it ended. It's a bittersweet feeling, it feels like 5 years just got stolen from me but I know that the way this show ended creates a pathway for many more to come (Gotham's showrunner wants to make a spin-off about Selina inbetween the 10 years that Bruce was gone, because it obviously shaped her into who we know and love) This show has changed my expectations of brilliant shows, and all I can ever hope for is that these amazing actors would get to revisit their characters again, be it as a spin-off or an entirely different concept. Gotham was and always will be fantastic, and will forever hold a place in my heart, as well as the actors who brought this to life.

Oof, okay, I did not think I would be able to go through this video yet (I’m TERRIBLE with endings) but after I started watching I couldn’t stop. And damn. Damn. Watching BatCat grow over the years has been wonderful. Through all the pain and heart ache they always had each other. Gotham did them justice. I do wish we could've had at least one scene between grown up Bruce (as Bruce not Batman) and Selina in the finale. But I'll take the rooftop scene, which was very befitting. It's so hard to say goodbye to Bruce/Selina and Gotham.

I totally agree with everithing you said about Batcat i also kidna grew up with them and since The begginin of Gotham they became The first shipp i would die for. WOW TOO MANY EMOTIONS!!!! I would just like to say for the longest time I could never find a editor who made regular videos of baby batcat and it made me sad. I watched Gotham since day one and always enjoyed there relationship the best. Gotham was my first introduction to the Batman world and now I’m a hard core comic fan. i can't believe it's over, i watched the finale thinking it would be so hectic and it would just make me want more and be sad about the ending but the thing is i'm actually satisfied with the ending and i will probably rewatch it in a year or so but i feel like i need to give my obsession a break. BatCat actually had all the moments i needed to make me finally feel like they were a proper couple and i honestly think it had the perfect ending. also with your description i felt the exact same about lili but honestly yes her portrayal was incredible especially when Bruce and Selina had that final scene, at the end her saying ''like hell'' when bruce asked her to put back the diamond it had the same dynamic of their relationship from their teenage days and her finally admitting her emotional attachment to Bruce was literally perfect!!

I was well upset that Camren wouldn't be Selina, but after reading her post, I had to get over it. Lili really tried and I felt the pain when she reunited with Bruce so I can't complain. Rooftop scene, get in! They're so perfect for each other, and I'm so glad we got to see the new stage of their relationship. Still can't believe Gotham's over! omg this song totally defines them, I love it. I'm going to miss this show. But the finale was not as good as I was hoping. While I loved the bat suit, the selina/bruce reunion was way too fast. I was hoping bruce would unmask himself so they could see each other face to face again. we needed way more batcat. But I guess the logistics of seeing David as a little bit older Bruce didn't work out? Plus i guess they wanted to leave the batman suit reveal to the end. I'm hoping there is a sequel series of batman begins or something... P.s graceion, I love your bellarke videos, looking forward to more:)

To be totally honest, I did have a lot of high expectations when I first heard about the timejump episode. I would have given Everything for a rooftop fight over the diamond and with the same ending they had in the episode. But,given that they spent 90% of the episode giving Jim ALL of the attention as usual, I guess I am happy with what we got! I would have preferred more focus on Bruce as Batman and actually having the conversation with Alfred and Lucius about taking up the mantle of Batman, even if it meant a recast of David. There was a lot to be desired, that's for sure but again like, the *ending* of BatCat having an emotional conversation, however one-sided but hinting at their upcoming cat and mouse game is literally all I could ask for!

But Bruce was so cold, so distant to her, i mean he saw her reaction, but he did nothing, he didnt calm her down, didnt hug, didnt say something nice, romantical...not at all, like he hasnt got feelings for her already..i wish he would say something like I`ll never leave YOU again , but no, he didnt say it((((( For me it was like Selina was talking with a stranger, that wasnt OUR Bruce, who cared and loved her...looks like now he only see her as a criminal , "return the diamond" So, i became very dissapointed and sad with this scene((((
