I don't know why people are shitting on this. There are few people more qualified to cover The Clash than Springsteen. He's a kindred spirit, and this was a great cover. Good on you Bruce!

They just hammered all of the subtlety out of the original (the break in the middle sung by Mick Jones). That's my complaint.

Geoff Chappell to be fair to Bruce. He tried and didn’t really succeed. A good attempt though. By his band Absolutely nobody is qualified to cover joe strummer’s voice. The American city’s mentioned in Springsteen’s version is dire. And I am not British. ,, but it keeps the brilliant clash fresh in the history of one of the most unique bands ever

The Clash has always been an inspirational Band. For Springsteen he has always been an admire of The Clash since their beginnings, along with Dylan and Marley. It says a lot on his part to commemorate Strummer as a respectable artist and his message concerning the common man, which Springsteen has always expressed in his music.

Love when Tom Morello joins him in Jam. Tom really rocked it out with Bruce on... Shoot, years adding up now. He rocks with Bruce on sum great songs. My memory failing me. I'm trying to pull the song out my head, but it's coming out, Youngstown, but it's another I was thinking of. But Tom just shredded it on this one song I can't name, but listened to 1000x easy. 🤕

I’m 48. Never cared for Springsteen as a teenage punk rocker musician. At 19, in 1990, was getting more engulfed by music and appreciative of every genre, At that time I had thought to myself, Springsteen is the American version of Joe, in that they wrote story telling, sometimes cautionary or introspective songs from the working class perspective. Both honourable icons, plus Bruce should totally do a clash reunion tribute! 🤘

I first saw Bruce Halloween night in Los Angeles 1980. I was 13. In 1982, I first saw The Clash at the Hollywood Palladium. Within two years of each other I was blessed to see perhaps the two best shows ive ever had the pleasure and good fortune to get to go to. Both shows I went with my older brother. I was 13, then 15. He was 18, then 20. Lol It went Butch you wanna go? Yeh but I got school and all (he was Valedictorian of his high school graduating class in 1980. Then went on to Yale Law. We were raised by our grandparents because our mother was mentally challenged. So it was uo to me, the younger brother ( think Wally and The Beaver in Leave it to Beaver). I would explain to grandpa. He'd confirm if my brother really wanted to go or was this some scheme of mine? Lol Once my brother confirmed, yes he wanted to go also, but had no time to wait in line like you had to back then. Grandpa would hand me the exact amount for the two tickets. I'd go all night and wait in line. My grandpa would get up every few hours at my grandma's insistence to check on me, a kid in line with all the teens and adults. He'd see I was not only fine, but often holding court as usually the youngest there all night. Lol I'd get the duckets and my life would be irrevocably changed. C'mon The Clash and Bruce Springsteen in a two year period. At the peak of their respective powers. Long live Rock!!
