Waitin' on a Sunny Day is a standout song from Bruce Springsteen's 2002 album release titled The Rising.
Featuring the late, great Clarence Clemmons on Tenor Saxophone, the solo comes right at the end of the song and only features a handful of notes played sparingly with great emotion.
An onscreen score for both Tenor and Alto Saxophones is included in this demonstration of Clemmons' masterful, minimalist sax solo where emotion is far more important than the number of notes played or any saxophone circus acts.
The use of a light growl along with bends into notes and vibrato are showcased in the short solo.
