They pull songs from signs out of the crowd. So, not on the set list. I’ve seen Bruce and E Street do it many times live. Remarkable performers.

Wow! I'd always known Emmy Lou Harris' version of this song, but this was next level!

This was a Chuck Berry huge hit. Bruce Springsteen live with Chuck Berry 79 years old on stage playing "Johny B. Good " with the full stadium completely in ecstasy singing and jumping. Oh!! And he does the infamous phenomenal "Duck Walk " at 79 !! The step that AC/DC Angus young does all the time 😊😊

You never can tell is an old song from the early 60s I believe. Written and released by Chuck Berry, writer and musician.

I'm so glad you enjoyed that one. Now here's another live performance with Bruce S. & Chuck Berry performing together, *"Chuck Berry with Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band - Johnny B. Goode (Concert for the Rock Hall)"* this is iconic, bro.

Such a joy to see real musicians work their craft. Just give them an idea of how the tune goes and what key it's in and........Bingo! Beautiful.

Great song. Yes, most definitely you'll want to check out Emmylou Harris and the Hot Band covering this song. There's a KZbin live video that was posted on Nov 2, 2015 by "The Music of Dave Carroll" with the title: Emmylou Harris You Never Can Tell C'est La Vie- that has pretty decent sound, and Emmylou and the Hot Band were cooking that night.

A great cover of a great old song. It's one of the few songs John Prine ever covered. You should check out his version.

I don't think anybody connects with an audience like Bruce Springsteen. I've seen him live twice. When he comes out for the encore it's all covers of great rock and rollers that came before him. By this time the energy is so high he has the audience eating right out of his hand.. regardless of how big the venue. We're talking 3-4 hour shows here, Shawn, and the audience never wants it to end. You feel like HE doesn't want it to end. The E Street Band might be the best live R&R band ever. But it's not all high energy. He can rock the slower more intimate songs just as powerfully. Often with personal stories leading up to them that gives the song that much more punch. No one leaves a Springsteen concert feeling like they didn't get their money's worth. He is the best of the best. Check out “Independence Day” by him. Spoiler Alert... It has nothing to do with the 4th of July.

There's a bunch of Bruce live covers that are superb. There are two picks that I'd share with you for your list up the road - Purple Rain (Prince) and Staying Alive (BeeGee's). I kid you not. There's also Lorde's Royals which is a particular fave of mine. Clash London Calling too. Oh and Twist and Shout in Argentina is insane, on the Amnesty International Tour.

A few of the greatest live Bruce tunes include Rosalita, Jungleland, Promised Land and of course Born to Run. Seen Stones, Clash, Bowie and Petty. None better in concert than Bruce and his band! In my opinion.

Bruce Srpingsteen came to Turku Finland, did two gigs back to back. He had switched 17 songs from the setlist between the shows. I mean, who else could pull something like this off?

Not many bands would be willing to take that risk. Bruce, however, seems to have utter confidence in the band and himself

For more live stuff from Bruce, check out Jungleland, live in New York City 2000 (it's on Springsteen's official youtube channel). IMO it's the best performance of his best song. 11 minutes of pure epicness.

Chuck Berry wrote that I think. Good listening. Bruce brings it. We'd drive to see um at the Pink Pony in Jersey, Asbury Park. C'est La Vie! Once upon a time I covered that song too in the style of Emmy lou Harris! That's life.

Bruce's band in 1972, backed Chuck Berry at a show at the University of Maryland. Berry didn't travel with a band but would use whatever band was available. It was for a show that Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis headlined with Bruce third on the bill.

Bruce and the Band actually backed up Chuck Berry in the early years. He would just use a local band to back him up and they volunteered to do it. They asked him what he was going to play and he said "Chuck Berry songs!". So they just had to figure it out as they went along. I'd love to see a video of that, but unfortunately there isn't one.
