josend Nah, his parents tried to do the same thing, and they were killed for it. Bruce realized the city was too corrupt to fix anything through legal means, so he became a force that could act outside of the law and get the ball moving in the right direction. Criminals began to run scared, and it inspired people like Harvey Dent to fix Gotham within the system, rooting out the corruption that had plagued the city for generations.
@Tai-ey3lx4 жыл бұрын
Bruce’s parents did way more for the city long-term than Bruce did. Most of Batman’s problems are created by his own actions. The Joker came to power because the Gangs were scared and angry that they couldn’t do business normally. Talia attacked Gotham because he killed Ra’s. The only thing he didn’t cause was Ra’s Alghoul’s attack in the first one. That’s the one time in these movies where Batman does net good. And even then most of that good came from his knowledge and resources, which allowed him to produce a cure for the fear toxin. Gotham does need Batman, but only when things get really bad, like Ra’s Alghoul bad. Because beating up mafia bosses and corrupt cops doesn’t actually solve anything. Creating jobs by expanding his businesses, providing tuition for the underprivileged (hell, he could start a university), and a bunch of other practical things help way more. They reduce crime by reducing the need for crime. Most criminals are poor people resorting to doing bad things to survive. The mafia goons, the n muggers, the pickpockets can all be stopped by Bruce Wayne. Batman only needs to come out for the true psychos.

The character of Alfred is so masterfully written throughout the three movies. Michael Caine is excellent, of course. But the character itself has so much depth compared to other Batman mediums. His loyalty to Bruce is seemingly limitless... until the Dark Knight Rises. It's there that we learn that Alfred cannot stand by and watch Bruce embrace death. He's watching Bruce embark on what he views as a suicide mission, and he can't be a part of that. That's why the Italian cafe scene at the end is so powerful. Alfred can rest now knowing that Bruce is no longer Batman.

He didn't complain about Bruce being Batman, after all he was the guy who helped Bruce build the suit, etc. Hell, he was the most supportive person to Bruce ever. But, in this film, the reason why he is "complaining" is because he is worried about him, it's been 8 years since Bruce has been Batman, 8 years since he has done any sort of physical activity, he's scared that Bruce would go out with no preparation to take down Bane, and after everything they have heard about Bane, how strong he is, Alfred is worried he would have to bury another person from the Wayne family.

After watching this movie multiple times, I thought I watched enough of this movie to know everything about it. Now while watching this video from a random recommendation I realised something.....when Alfred say 'Sometimes a man rises from the darkness', that's exactly when the suit emerges from beneath. This is a subtle foreshadowing of the events in the movie. When Bruce Wayne dons the batsuit for the first time in 8 years, its Bruce Wayne that's going out there to fight crime. He is the same depressed Bruce Wayne, that had a gun on him when he went to confront Joe Chill's hearing. He is broken, afraid, reckless and he has lost his sense of purpose. Only when he is thrown into the pit and made to suffer, he is able to find his real strength, which is his indomitable spirit, embrace his fear and is able to climb out of the pit. The bats flying out of the walls just as he is bale to make the jump signifies this. That is when Batman rises for one last time to save his city once and for all. Hence, the title, ' The Dark Knight Rises'.

Gotta love how Alfred sometimes spoke way too poetically about real issues often requiring a direct and to-the-point explanation. It’s actually quite refreshing to see a supporting character who likes to provide euphemistic context like this. “But sometimes, a man rises from the Darkness... Sometimes, the pit... sends something back,” and “And anyone who’s too extreme for Ra’s Al Ghul, is a man not to be trifled with.” I mean, DAYUMN, Alfred! That’s all so ominously poetic, and gives me an emotional context to the problem that Bane poses!

***** yeah but it's obvious that Origins was heavily inspired by this movie what with Batman's redesign, Bane looking more militaristic, etc..

While the Origins Batcave’s layout, from the stairs to the batcomputer’s arrangement, seemed to be influenced by the Burton movies. The waterfall was definitely from the TDK trilogy.

Loved Michael Caine's Alfred. He had the perfect blend of a moral parental figure combined with witty sense of humour, just like how Bale nailed the balance between the characters of Bruce Wayne and Batman

tdkfangirl CIA knew about Bane we see that in the beginning of the movie (Plane heist scene) so why wouldn't the worlds greatest detective and his (ex-army) butler also know about him? So here are two ways: Alfred probably could know about Bane: 1. Alfred had contacts from his army-time. 2. He hacked CIA and found the info about Bane. Pick whatever you like the most. I'm sorry, but sometimes these questions answers themselves if you just pay alittle attention. ;-)

I love the way when Alfred says, "But sometimes, a man rises from the darkness" and you get the shot of the suit coming up, almost foreshadowing that Bruce himself rises from the pit.

this kind of scenes is what makes you understand why Nolan's trilogy is in another level. i like every iteration of Batman in cinema, but The Dark Knight Trilogy is just unbelievably good.

Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack in the background of this scene, is so well done. It perfectly fits the scene and the eerie darkness of the storytelling, whilst at the same time also promoting Bruce’s determination to return to Gotham as The Dark Knight. His duty, to save the city.. No matter the cost.

Michael Caine has this ability to tell a story and make me want to listen. Most of the time, I start to tense up because it usually sounds lame when other actors tell a story.

What could Bruce Wayne have done as Bane took over Gotham? I can see where Alfred is coming from about Bruce needing to move away from Batman. He can't be Batman forever. I get that. But Gotham needed Batman to take on Bane & his Army. Batman is brutal but he is inspiring to the ordinary citizen because he takes the battle to the villains. He gives the people a symbol to rally around, to believe in. Look at the kids, some of the cops throughout this film. The minute things go south after 8 years of manufactured peace due to Dent's persona being full of propaganda, there is no resistance to Bane's rise bar Batman. When out of Gotham in the ancient prison, the city is helpless. There is no way Bane's threat & plan can be countered by Bruce Wayne the civilian making technological & infrastructure improvements to Gotham. And ironically, it's Bruce funding technological innovation that led to a villain weaponizing a Wayne Industries project.

Bruce :" You are afraid , that if I go back there , I will fail" Alfred : "No...I am afraid that you want to" Alfred knew that deep down Bruce felt somehow responsible for Rachel's death and that he was not longer afraid of dying . In fact when they fought for the first time Bane said to Batman : "Victory has defeated you".

What I want to know is this: The Dark Knight Trilogy was beloved by all, and Batman didn't kill in it (not on purpose at least). 'Man of Steel' suffered a massive fan backlash because Superman killed one guy. So what do Zack Snyder and the other people working on 'Batman V Superman' decide to do? Have Batman kill fucking EVERYONE!

The scene where Batman goes to save Martha Kent makes up for everything. It was the best bat-fight in any movie, ever. If you notice at the end, he didn't adapt his creed not to kill until after he felt he'd failed Superman (hence, the branding of the wall in Luthor's cell instead of Luthor, indicating he was changing his ways to be less brutal). I like that Batman and Superman were killers in these movies. I get that people expect them to be the same characters, but they've been the exact same characters for 50 years a piece. Let somebody come out with a darker take on them just for the sake of "what if Batman was a killer?"
