This feels like a video game where there are no rules. Just go go go go!!!!! Too bad the brakes were an issue, but then again there's always something right??? Great job Bruce!!!!!! Proud of you man. You did the best with what you had for sure!!!!! You need to do this again and again. I believe you're a natural. If you did this good with little familiarity, just imagine how good you could do with a set up you're familiar with!!!!

Over the years I was attracted to Baja, watching all the aerial footage and the speed of all the racers. I never made it and at least partly because of how dangerous it really is. It will remain one of those bucket (unobtainable) list items for me. But DAMN!!! It sure looks like fun (to about the twentieth power!!!) and thanks for sharing a bit.👍🏼

It is pretty insane for both racers and spectators. Something that could never happen here

@@BruceCookfmx I was introduced to motocross in the early 1960’s, in Germany. The first race I watched, in a forest in Bavaria was the most brutal thing I had ever seen. A course cut through a hillside with flags on trees marking it. Thirty minutes of survival with broken bikes and riders getting dragged off the ‘track’ by spectators. Man, I was sold! Early ‘70s my hero was Bengt Aberg and I started destroying race bikes every weekend I could. Again, thanks for taking me back to that spark for a little bit!

A Baja racer once said that running Baja is like trying to control a firecracker and keeping the explosion inside your hand. It’s a fine line between going too fast and not going fast enough. It’s a race against Baja and surviving is the key NOT beating the guy next to you. You can’t win if you can’t finish.

Amazing! Better, more intense than any action movie. I had to laugh at the intro warning about language, totally understandable. I'm not much to cuss but I didn't have a beep for mine!😂 The cows, the grader-- where the beep did that come from! Bruce you've got to do this again! My heart just broke when you went through the fence 💔 Please do it again next year, you had it right there. Thanks for taking us along, safe travels and GOD bless

Holy crikey! I know you are an adrenaline junky, but that is beyond insanity! No brakes, people in the road, backhoe, grampa drivers, zero visibility. You were just starting to really kick butt, dang. You did well first time out, that track is not there for success. Denny would have had a heart attack in the passenger seat.

My dream & desire for desert racing wained hard when I was plucking around on a track in Az and I watched a Rock shoot from under my passenger front tire the size of a watermelon at head height with a shocking amount of speed …I looked at my passenger and said what if there was someone standing there! It is a different mind set and a different energy that surronds people that excel at these events … All the lessons in a compact easy to revisit snippiette of racing …next time its: travel smoother, make it farther, find the finish line before you think you need to go faster! If you finish your first desert race in a new to you vehicle …its a bad omen!
