I'm 64 now, and through the beautiful times and dark days I have found inspiration and solace in Bruce's music. Decades ago, I danced alone in the dark with my four kids asleep in the upstairs bedrooms of my old farmhouse. When my life shattered in 2013, I bowed my head to the ground listening to his songs. I have wept and I have risen up listening to his music. Bruce, you have touched me in ways that are ineffable. For your heartfulness, passion, and poetry, I thank you. For accompanying me when I was otherwise alone, I bow to you. I have always wanted to tell Bruce how much his music has meant to me, and how, in some inexplicable way, his music has become a part of who I am.

I've often wandered what it is that is so important, that has made his music and his stories such a deep, deep part of my life and in the end I sort of came to the conclusion that he's the best companion and partner in crime I could dream of. It's not a matter of giving answers, it's a lot more a matter of setting the questions straight and always finding new curiosities, new passions, new reasons. So, yeah, Cathleen, it's like that.

My father spoke these words in his grief after Mom's unexpected passing. He joined her two years later. "One Minute You're Here" will lead us into the opening words of Dad"s graveside service this coming Saturday. I can't think of a more beautiful, more fitting song to send him home with. "One Minute You're Here" speaks so clearly of how quickly life moves forward. We and all we experience are but a moment in time. He's as anti-American as they get. Another Hollywood liberal capitalizing on something they have nothing in common with. He's been a millionaire longer then not. If this is rock and roll, then music is dead. The only thing he's the "boss" of is hypocrisy.

@@caroltaylor7894, Absolutely right. I am an old Springsteen fan, used to listen to him all the time, adore his first 'Greatings from Asbury Park' where he equally well caught the youth, as he catches the life and thoughts of an older person. I think 'Growing Up' is one of the best songs ever written, and that is a lot from me. Life hasn't only been a joyful journey during a longer period of time, and I rediscovered my teens favorites, 'Sparks', and they caught my heart again, instantly. I still believe that Bruce Springsteen is one of the kind, one of the best, even though I nowadays prefer 'Sparks' and their mostly positive and humorous ways of meeting life. 'Sparks' is two brothers, Ron and Russell Mael, who bring in the musicians they need for what project they have going on. As you understand they are nearly opposite to Springsteen, Russell's voice IS the opposite to nearly every singer, at young age having a flawless falsetto, and still reaches that high, but nowadays you can hear where the falsetto starts and ends. To the point, on their latest album, 'A Steady Drip Drip Drip', released in May 2020, they have a song, 'All That', about becoming old, and being thankful about in life having met someone to love, looking back on life together and the fear of loosing that person. It's stylistically a very "normal" song (Sparks IS a very, hm, special). kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4GmpGyJgZyNf80 Another one, about the regrets of having missed much in life, at the point when it's to late is 'I've never been high', where the word "high" is a metaphor for "excited", they are known for not using drugs. Or perhaps that's why 😂! From the album 'Exotic Creatures Of The Deep', 2008. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4W7ZKxmgJ1le8k Also, the same theme, from the 2017's album 'Hippopotamus' the wonderful 'Edith Piaff (said it better than me)' kzbin.info/www/bejne/rGbNpaR5pJlmja8 I'm not sure that fans that only like Springsteen like either of these songs, but I take my chances and put the links here IF someone wish to try. They are good songs, with clever (I think) lyrics. NOT DIMINISHING BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, THE BOSS AT ALL!! I love him too 😍🥰💕💞

A masterpiece. How quickly a train passes...the summer passes...our friends and loved ones pass...and yet how long it seems to take before we can be together again. How unsettling the moment is when you finally feel your own mortality. If we hadn't witnessed it with our own eyes and ears, it would hardly seem possible that the same man who wrote Born to Run and Backstreets and all the other great rock anthems could also write songs like "Somewhere North of Nashville," "Meeting Across the River," and this almost unbearably poignant classic. But he did, and somehow, deep down, it seems like we all knew he could, all along. Wasn't he the one who urged us to show a little faith, there's magic in the night? How many times have you grabbed a friend and told them, "Just listen to this song," or "Just read these lyrics and you'll see - he's a genius." And now, after we've been rewarded for believing in Bruce so many times, it shouldn't be surprising when he creates a song as beautiful as this, but we're still amazed when it happens. Because it's just amazing. Reading Bruce's autobiography, hearing him describe growing up next to St. Rose of Lima, makes his lifelong exploration of faith understandable. And not just religious faith, but faith in each other, in the way things could be, or should be, or the way we wish they'd always be. But Bruce's songs reflect that he knows - perhaps he's always known, that life doesn't work that way. Our joys and sorrows, dreams and disappointments, friendships, loved ones - our very lives, are unpredictable and fleeting, so let's celebrate each other and help each other and love each other while we can. Thanks again, Bruce! Thanks E Street!

@brucespringsteenf.j. I'd be honored, Bruce. I would like to clarify one thing, though...would I be able to tell a friend or family that I'm in communication with you without revealing any personal details?
@lostnfound777 Жыл бұрын
@brucespringsteenf.j. I promise you I won't share your contact info. I'm not on Telegram yet, but I did just download it to my computer. I'm one of the few people in the usa that doesn't have a smart phone so I'll be using it on my comp instead if I can. I'll let you know when I have it up and running.

@brucespringsteenf.j. well, it looks like telegram won't work without a smart phone. I do use google voice which allows me to receive and send texts. There is one thing I need from you, though, Bruce. I need a confirmation that it's really you. Could you snap a selfie with you holding the current day's newspaper in the shot where the date could easily be seen? I hope you understand.

If you love rock n roll as I do this is off the hook great it’s a documentary about the making of Bruce Springsteen's Letter To You. In my opinion it should go down as one of the very best albums of all time! Not only do you get a chance to see him at work but also the legendary E Street Band. The lyrics and the Cinematography will bring a tear to your eyes, its truly moving!

Honestly.... I m not that hard die Springsteen fan (not yet, but it may change in the future)... But I always recognized his honesty and genuinity... Now, this song.. I could picture God having this voice... Like a tired old man, explaining his Life to you.... And you just listen in religious silence...
