Tudor Monochrome - Best Watch Release of 2024?

I picked this up about 2 months back now with the 5-link bracelet and it's barely left my wrist since. I was inclined to go for an Aqua Terra before but after seeing this one in person it was a no brainer.

When I first time saw this watch I knew right away that I want Monochrome. I thought I possibly could afford that in next five years, but I got lucky and got really good deal for my old Tudor Smiley (+$) and haven't need regret that decision. I absolutely love that monochrome watch. For me jubilee was no brainer and with that bracelet that watch work me in any circumstances

@thr333zy To be honest not at all. I miss the Tudor rose logo, I liked that more than Shield, but otherwise I wouldn't change anything. Absolutely love that matte bezel against all shiny surfaces

At the first look its boring, but thats what i like about it Its a watch you can wear your whole life and it will never look bad and suits almost every Outfit and style Fantastic allrounder

My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.

Bought one and all 3 bracelets and immediately sold my Sub (124060). The ceramic bezel was ultimately to much bling for my taste. Couldn't be happier.

It's very good. I think Tudor gave a lot of us what we've been waiting for with this release. To me, it's the modern Tudor Sub. I think the Omega and Rolex are in a different category. Dress divers for desk divers. No judgement in that. They are just really pretty (and awesome, and pricey) watches. The Monochrome is more elemental. Also retro in its honoring of design traits. Price is right. Snowflake 4eva!

I DO think that Tudor has been working towards perfection since the first iteration came out and this is finally 99% of the way there. Lose the faux rivets and this could be the watch that could be in tudors catalog and stay unchanged for decades.

TUDOR - the overpriced San Martin. One is the Rolex owned homage/clone brand, the other the affordable clone/homage. Both tell the world you like the look of a neo vintage submariner, which are widely available, but you just can't afford one.

I got my monochrome right after getting back from Watches & Wonders. I haven't had the urge to get a Sub since. At the current 10,800 price of the sub I would probably decline it if I got the call as the sub isn't 11k better than the monochrome. Maybe if it was the green bezel it'd be a consideration but 11k's getting a bit much for such a common design. I forget which it was but you can go back and look at the 60s reference subs and there's one that is identical to the monochrome. So it basically is a sub. it's just a pre ceramic sub with a METAS movement. I'll probably wait for a GMT maybe or something else but the monochrome has really pushed the Sub out of my collection wish list. Also this is coming from someone who has purchased a Bluesy at an AD and then later sold it. So I have had a modern sub in the not too distant past.

Great video buddy, i don think the best release statement is click bate. I think in general it more than likely is the best release of 2024 for practical more affordable great Swiss timepieces! I bought the 3 link monochrome and love it!

Burgundy for me and love it - the black didn't grab me as much. As for the Sub at twice the price if you can get one at an AD, the laws of diminishing returns are so obvious. I put the difference to 3 weeks in Europe. It's all relative to your snack bracket.

The main problem of this Black Bay, as with all other Black Bays with the diving bezel is the aluminium bezel insert. I am sorry, but as well as it is designed, with the price it commands anything but a ceramic bezel insert is in my opinion down right a travesty.

I love this piece, I know I have stated this multiple times on various channels. I would wear this one for sure. Ditch the rivets and put some effective ARC on the crystal. I recently picked up the Tuseno Shellback which I think has similar vibes at a slightly lower price point. I would love to own the Tudor, nice review.

The ARC looks OK to me when I tried it. I also would prefer the Ranger bracelet. I don’t know which option to buy. I’d like the rubber without the steel end links, or the oyster without the rivets. The 5 link looks great, but I’m not sure it matches dive watch style.

Could you explain why it fits smaller than 41mm? From what I've read and watched, others don't share that impression and, after all, I believe it's quite thick and has a relatively long lug length. I have the original Black Bay red with the ETA movement and "smiley face" and it fits OK, but certainly not on the smaller side.

I’ve had the BB Pepsi GMT and currently have the BB Pro 39mm and the Monochrome 41mm. Though the Monochrome is 41mm and 13.5 thick, it sits flatter and nicer than the Pepsi and the Pro on the wrist. The Monochrome does feel more like a 40mm.

It measures in at 40.5mm diameter which Tudor rounds up and calls 41. The lack of crown guards, and new case profile, mixed with the relatively narrow dial makes it wear like a 40. The sub on the other hand wears like a 41
