A year on I find myself back watching this again. A terrific rendition of a great composition written in a difficult time signature, Bravo to these guys! - i wonder how the hell they are now, all these years later with the world so much more f*cked up than it was then (and it wasn't great then either...)

AWESOME. Saw both Bruford line ups. With Holdsworth and also the 'Unknown' John Clark. You guys did them proud. So sorry to hear both the drummer and the bass player have passed. The man upstairs must've needed a good rhythm section. Peace.

Fantastic version. Saw it live back in 79/80 on the Brand X/Bruford doublebill tour - not with Holdsworth, but with The Unknown John Clark on guitar. And a pretty fine fist he made of it too. Great to see so much Line 6 kit in evidence. So sorry to read about the passing of your pal on the skins & cymbals. Peace.

Fantastic job on HB guys. I used to have a band in the early 80's and we always opened with this. You guys are much better than we were though. I remember seeing Bruford play this in Milwaukee. They opened the show with it too. The pulsing synth part started w/o Bruford on stage. He slowly meandered out onto the stage and sat down at his kit a nano-second before he kicked it into gear. What a class act.

Re: people walking by and through the performance, oblivious: Brian Plummer had a band from western Canada called "Treena" and the singer, on occasion of knowing that whatever amazing Genesis cover they were going to do was NOT going to be received by the "rank and file" because of their collective permanent lapse in taste used to introduce the piece thusly: "Stuff THIS into your brains, kids!" Very accurate sonically, especially with the guitar and synth parts. This is *by far* the best cover of this tune on youtube etc.... there are quite a bunch, and (with the obvious exception of this version), they are *horrible*.
