Bravo et merci, j'ai été subjugué par la qualité des arrangements et bien-sûr des compositions dans leur ensemble sur votre album. Du coup cette série de vidéos tombe à point nommé pour moi qui essaye aussi modestement de créer de la musique; je trouve qu'on ne traite souvent pas assez des étapes et des idées qui concourent (une racine de mot que vous aimez bien ;) )à une création. J'étais passé vous voir à Paloma il y a un ou 2 ans sur Nîmes, hélas le son était assez brouillon, mais je suis confiant sur votre prochain passage :)

Interesting! I must say I really enjoyed your video on bandcamp, I like the energy and the creativity. This track is an emotional banger. Thanks for the trip. Btw, I'm not fan of the constraints mentioned in this video, targeted to keep your music artisanal. I'm definitely interested by constraints, but not for fighting against any tool or the industry, it'd be more about shrinking artistic freedom to develop a sonic palette. For the metaphor, it'd be like removing some colors to work with a specific palette, but not forbidding the use of photoshop or any other tool. Imho, there's no bad tool for building emotions, only vision and expression matters at the end. I was not able to find you on spotify, am I unlucky or is it an artistic choice?

Thanks for your message! You're absolutely right I don't think there are bad tools and I don't think that was my point... We used VST, Splice, or other "in the box" process in our first EP, and we will use them in the future of our production. Here in this album we try to evoke a point of view on the major ecological crisis in which our civilization is entangled. We have the conviction that art is enriched and gains in depth when it is consistent on all the mediums which constitute it (and thus as you could understand it intuitively our choice to boycott spotify is part of this step) If we agree that the tool influences the process and that the process influences the result then it seems to me relevant to question the tool. Moreover if I take up your metaphor "the palette" is indeed a tool for the painter, and not an aesthetic constraint. But know that we also set aesthetic constraints. For example in this piece we tried to create a tension by changing as little chord as possible (2/3 of the piece are based on only one G chord) and by having a very "immobile" melodic material as well (the AB canon theme and that's all). The evolution comes from the texture, the instrumentation and the interpretation rather than from a melodic and harmonic evolution which puts the intention in the center of this piece (contrary to "renaissance" which is much more varied melodically and harmonically, and where the aesthetic constraints are almost at the antipodes). Basically we think that coherence and artistic connections should be made on as many parameters as possible. We try to propose a handcrafted, conscious, personal, organic approach because it makes sense with the purpose we defend artistically, and forbidding the use of some tool help us to go further in this approach. But if tomorrow we make an album about metaverse and transhumanism you can be sure to hear a lot of digital tools, glitches drums that will sound like a drum machine and synthetic distorded violins ;) (can't wait to try all that ! )
