Lovely people, lovely Country..I was friendly with a 18yrs old Customs Officer and I was a18yrs old Royal Marine and one day he took me for a ride on his motor cycle from Brunei Town to Seria. We were stopped by the Generals convoy who were travelling the same road and couldn't pass us, anyway they eventually overtook us, stopped us, the General was Major General Walter WALKER. The M.P. who was in the convoy, Screamed "General Officer present, SALUTE....which I did, he then gave me a telling off for having a Malay five dollar note in the rear of my plastic wallet containing my I.D. Card. I glanced at the General, sat in his car and he looked at me....smiling !! He probably thought.....How pathetic !
