I like that his song is mentioned in the lyrics (Bublin") & MJ with "shum on" instead of come on. Leave the door open (unlocked front door) is what lovers used to do when they knew their man or woman was coming by to get some while they went & got ready for it. The choreography, the clothes & Andersons glasses in the Live version remind me of the O'Jays back in the day. Its the music my mother used to listen to. They got it all the way Right!

This well written and well produced collaboration with Anderson Paak holds its own as an original while it pays homage and tribute to the lush, sexy and sophisticated, classy music arrangements of the Delphonics, The Stylistics, Blue Magic and others responsible for the original Philadelphia Sound. A distinctive sound made possible by music producer and genius Thom Bell (w/Linda Creed in some instances) and Philadelphia International's Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. But especially Thom Bell who personally painstakingly crafted and created much of its architecture with symphonic strings, horns, that distinctive snare drum hit and other instruments and arrangements not usually found in popular commercial music. Bruno Mars successfully captures the essence of this classic 70's music style, as only Mars can. We all wish his contemporaries in music could also recognize the class, well thought out lyrics and music structure which makes well written and well produced music possible.
