Drummers I need your help. I used to love making drum covers and playing along to songs etc, thats how I started playing drums anyway. Now, I feel kind of stuck, I am a self taught drummer, and I really want to get back at making videos and such, but I feel stuck everytime I want to make those covers. I feel like I'm playing the same stuff all over and its not as fun as it used to be. Any tips?

+KlaudiaDrums Listen to a variety of music! If you discover something new that you really like, you can gather new ideas and overall broaden your drumming spectrum. A lot of times when I get bored playing or I feel mediocre, a new perspective is all it takes to get me back into my passion!

I suggest to just pull out a random song of an entirely different genre! I've been a drummer for 6 years, I used to be very into rock stuff like ACDC but then I started getting bored. that's when I decided to switch over to heavy metal, from there I learned funk and from there I've gone to latin. the point of the switching is just to shake up the interstate and the feel of your drumming ^-^

I feel like covers like this are when they are the most pleasing to watch. It shows that you aren't just a good drummer, but also a good musician. sometimes, i feel like you overplay a lot of the songs that you do play, and sometimes, while impressive to watch, kinda ruins the video to watch personally; it seems like you're trying too hard. But covers like this where you're only playing what is necessary in certain parts shows to me that you are aware of the song and what needs to be played when. really love the cover Casey, keep making videos like this, and you'll always have fans that are appreciative of your playing style; keep going.

Misael Villalobos fills are fills. Take it from a church drummer (lots of my friends are too). Best thing to can do is listen to all types of music and learn styles and fills. Cobus is another incredible KZbinr to learn from. He’s a believer but does all types of songs.
