Bruno is the youngest in history to ever headline the superbowl, and only had 2 albums out and was only 3 years into has solo career. He also broke a viewership record. Smashed it.

Best half time show ever. Bruno said it was minus 12 during rehearsals so they were all rugged up with heaters in their jackets but when he touched the mic it was like a popsicle and his hand stuck to it. By the time It was performance , it was a balmy 55 degrees, with 2 mins to walk out it started raining just to wet everything down including his pompadour hair do…and that’s how they pulled it off. Amazing. Seeing them and how far they come doesn’t seem sustainable but they just keep surprising us. The brilliance is blinding, not that other acts aren’t just in particular. Love your reactions. Thanks 🐨👏🏼

If you look again at the front of Bruno's drum kit there is a replica of the tattoo he has on his right shoulder (a heart with his mother's name "Bernadette"). She passed away at 55 from a brain aneurysm about 6 months before this Super Bowl. She wasn't happy when he started getting tattoos because she felt they covered up his beautiful skin, but made an exception when he got this one. Before Bruno released his first studio album he made his living as a songwriter/producer for other artists and would frequently play whatever instruments were necessary to get the job done. Believe drums was one of the instruments he played on his first studio album (Doo-Wops and Hooligans). For the "Unorthodox Jukebox" album he only played guitar, keyboard, and piano, but did do a drum solo on his world tour supporting that album. Bruno played drums, along with providing vocals, on "Uptown Funk." On the "24K Magic" album he only played the talk box. With a collaboration he did with Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton (Blow) it was guitar, drums, and moog. The "Please Me" collaboration with Cardi B Bruno played guitar and guitar synthesizer. For the Silk Sonic era it was guitar, sitar, congas, and percussion. Andy provided the drumming on all the tracks except "Smokin Out The Window" which was done by Homer Steinweiss. You should check him out.

The bass player is Jamareo Artis, he was on P Ditty's Making the band. Bruno was just starting his career then and just snatched him up so his career started then too. I believe he played with a few people before but once he became a Hooligan that was it. Oh and by the way he was one of the winners of Making the band.

Yes. He's also playing bass for the Silk Sonic live performances. I believe he's the one wearing the hats.

Bruno got the call requesting he & his band do the Superbowl have time show Bruno said he was shocked & then made the call to the Red Hot Chilly Peppers to perform with him Great call Bruno This is my favorite half time show!

I loved you pointing out that Bruno and the Holligans performed live, while the RHCP performed to a pre-recorded track. Lip-syncing isn't bad and it's what the people who produce the Superbowl prefer to reduce mistakes/mishaps, but Bruno had to convince them to let him perform live. When ppl aren't lip-syncing, there's an added level to how impressive they are and Bruno & the Holligans performances are top-tier.

It's crazy to me, a massive fan of Michael Jackson, Prince, and many of the other insane megastars that performed at the super bowl, that Bruno's is my absolute favorite! Prince and Michael are untouchable to me, I hold them in such high regard, but to me nothing will beat Bruno's performance. He had everything. He had the perfect mix of musicianship and performance value! Between him and his band being SPOT ON with everything and their amazing talent being on full display, especially bruno's amazing vocals, and the dancing and the lighting and the costumes... just everything was perfect! And I will be honest and say that Bruno's band makes his shows what they are. Yes Bruno is unbelievably talented, but without his band this show wouldn't have been as good! Ugh just everything about it is perfect. Even the addition of the chili peppers is amazing and im not even that big of a fan of them. Some of the special guests that get added into these performances feel so out of place and often switch up the energy too much that it doesn't feel like a cohesive performance, but Bruno and the hooligans were on a high, chili peppers came on and kept that high, and then Bruno brought it down himself to finish it off. It just all meshed so well together! No doubt in my mind that it will be extremely hard for anyone to ever beat this performance.

I'm 58. I grew up when Michael Jackson was killing us all in the late 60's/early 70's. 10 years later, this "weird" guy comes out of Minneapolis. They were awesome and have their places in music history. NOW, while I love them both, . . .Bruno Mars put on the best halftime show ever. Bar none. I've watched that performance probably . . .20 times since he did it, maybe more. I haven't watch Michael's but maybe once since he did it. I've watched Prince's maybe five times. Again, these guys have their place in history, but Bruno Mars introduced himself to us all that night and now WE ALL know him.

Best halftime show ever! People doubted Bruno bc he wasn’t a huge star yet but I knew he was talented from attending his concerts and so happy that he validated his talent in front of doubters. Also this was the first halftime show in a long time in a cold weather stadium. I live near MetLife Stadium and it was freezing that day. So they had to battle the elements also

One of the best music reaction videos I've seen, great job. So much great insight. Pretty much every little thing I wanted to see a reaction to I got. The only thing I missed was a comment about the drums at 20:48. :) With the military tributes preceding that last song, I absolutely loved how that drum part drew a lot from what you might hear from a military marching band. Tied in absolutely perfectly!

All the instruments and music here are pre-recorded except for the vocals and maybe Bruno's drumming. RHCP got dragged for this and flea had to explain why his guitar wasn't plugged.
