@@lilnonono5942 Glad your exam went well. Listening to a performance like this one of a piece as exquisite as Dvorak's cello masterpiece before an exam could only clear the cobwebs from one's brain and increase one's chances of a successful result. A clear, calm, well-rested mind is IMO the greatest asset for any exam. Actually studying is secondary.

@@namzarf Hi, there! I just watched the video in the link. He's actually not talking about his cello at all, he's just making a general introduction about what type of instrument a cello is, how it produces sounds and what type of sounds etc. At the end he says how he was once late at his own solo concert held in a church already full of people.

@@jorgegarzaelli6238 The only thing I found out is that: "Bruno Philippe plays a cello by Carlo Tononi on loan from Beare’s International Violin Society" according to his management agency's website. www.lagence-management.com/en/artists/instrumentalists/bruno-philippe/ Carlo Tononi lived between 1675-1730, according to the wikipedia article about him. In 1713 he moved from Bologna to Venice. Therefore it is well possible that he might have met Vivaldi.

Playing, especially as a soloist, involves more than just playing the notes. Everything affects the performance; your interpretation, the way you move every part of your body, even how your hair moves. It's not easy to truly do a piece justice, but he played wonderfully.

favourite but frim 11:43 until 12:52 the emotive double stopping octaves which already is magnificent but then after so much string crossing from right up the fingerboard and each note is just so clearly pronounced like he's just speaking the cello he just adds a bit of himself in too. Loved the interaction with the clarinet too oh my word it was amazing.

I give him 10 thumbs up.

Dvorak est plus que le reflet d'une époque. C'est un astéroïde fantôme qui revient jeter son dévolu sur l'art sonore. Une onde décadente chargée de paradoxes d'où s'échappent l'obscurantisme et l'irrationnel, facteurs hypnotiques défiant les âmes vulnérables en quête d'absolu. pepperco100 I agree it’s off putting and strange how many teachers instruct their students to use histrionics on stage as a way to prove to the audience that they “feel” the music where as Hilary Hahn was taught not to practice histrionics or make a strange facial contortions on stage that it detracts from the music and people constantly criticize her and say that she is only a technical violin player that she does not play with emotion which is ridiculous. Her playing is full of emotion if you need to see that not just hear it watch her face and forehead and you’ll see those subtle changes . You could say her instructor was old-school, Jascha Brodsky at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, If you watch KZbin videos of old black and white TV recordings soloists never practiced histrionics on stage no matter what instrument they played yes they move and swayed to the music and made subtle facial expressions but nothing like the exaggerated movements and facial expressions you see on stage today.

Grandios! Das schönste Cellokonzert, das je geschrieben wurde, in einer perfekten Darbietung. Man möchte nicht zweifeln, dass diesem jungen hochbegabten Cellisten alle Tore zu einer Weltkarriere offen stehen.

It is disgraceful that the whole concerto has been split into 3 parts not by individual movement but the KZbin ads...

It's funny because his hair and lips remind me of Ryan Philippe. I had a huge crush on him when I was in Junior High after watching "Cruel Intentions". 💖💛💖💖

I was so confused, as I saw the cello player "might Ryan have a musician simbling??". I'm glad I found your comment. Yes, both are gorgeous and talented. ;) :D
