Back in the day Bruno was one of the first guys to Bench press over 500lbs !! All Natural! Saved a few wrestling organizations back in the 60's early 70's! GENTLEMEN!!

Bruno was a real man. He had world-class strength people can say what they want, and a person is harder to lift than we8ghts, but if Bruno wanted to lift old haystacks, he wouldn't have much trouble.

I met Bruno in 1990, in Pittsburgh. I was there co-promoting a concert. We had lunch in a strip mall. When we walked to our car, there was Bruno putting stuff in his. We introduced ourselves, shook hands, and I told him seeing him many times in the DC area., and how I promoted a couple of WWWF events to raise funds for school athletics. I invited him to the concert, but I guess he wasn't into a disco cover band. However, he couldn't have been nicer.

The pictures show Bruno lifting Calhoun by grabbing him around one leg and lifting him off of the ground. I don't think he actually bodyslammed him. For a short time Bruno held the benchpress record 565 lbs.

I have more respect for Bruno sammartino than I do any other wrestler because he didn't go crawling back to the idiot promoters like everybody that comes back to that garbage company WWE and Vince which is pathetic!! Instead he had respect for himself and believed in himself!!,! The man is a Living Legend of Pro Wrestling 💪 🤼‍♂️ Wrestling today is pure garbage especially WWE and that company let anybody come through the back door disgracing wrestling
