Brunton Echo review: Useful Budget Monocular or Toy.

What's with China and their crappy glues? We have a pair of Merrel hiking boots where the glue attaching the soles to the upper has completely dried and cracked, requiring a complete removal of the dried gunk and re-gluing. And apparently some china-made Ecco shoes had issues with outsole rubber literally disintegrating and becoming a black sticky goo. I guess Brunton stopped making optics in the US around 2014. I didn't even know they branded cheap made-in-China optics after that.

Ironically the Echo has been sold in America since before 2014. My research shows at least since 2012 and likely even earlier than that! This is one time we can't blame a Chinese sub-contractor for giving us cheaply-made junk. All on Brunton.
