A very nice performance by both of these young ladies. I may be half-Irish by blood (my grandmothers' families were from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland), yet while I can appreciate the culture, history, and music of Ireland, I'm pretty sure me trying the brush dance would result in someone using it to sweep my teeth off the floor after I've fallen flat on my face.

The first migration from Ireland to America was to the Appalacians in the 1700s, mostly by the Scots Irish. It was the origin of "Country Music". The second migration was post famine in the 1800/1900s, mostly to the American cities. Irish Gaelic and Scots Gaelic are closely related languages, and spread from N E Ireland into the Highlands and Islands of Albann/Alba - Scotland.
