No do not use tap water. Deionized water is a poor conductor of electricity because of the scarcity of ions, which are the conductors of water, as well as many Chemical solutions.
@BlueDroneBlues4 жыл бұрын
I use tap water. Including you run some of these in streams mud ponds and other shit. Tap is fine for me. After you clean it in the water run it out of the water and let it dry itself out. Then I just add a couple drops of Silicon oil on both sides and run it again to let the oil get in and just whip off the access. Ready to 🎸!

Have to say a was suprised myself as well. Because you can't open these brushed motors for cleaning, this is the way to do it. I think it's important to keep a low rpm. I haven't tried a high rpm, it's not necessary. On KZbin you can also see complete rc-cars driving fully submerged. 😎 Incredible! The electronics are okay with it, bearings and other steel components are less okay with it.

I mostly challenge that p.o.s. car on a sandy beach with crazy monstrous germs and stuff. Any and all tips would be really appreciated. Maybe a suggestion about a revo or something in the 4wd area. Idk. It's a small hobby and I really have no friends that partake and buffalo ny dont have any clubs I know of. No one organizes much of anything that I know of around here.

@rayhobbiez12043 жыл бұрын
I think you could, but it is not the first choice. WD40 is quit liquid. With spraying there is a big possibility you also spray other parts of the motor. And because WD40 is so liquid it is likely to stop earlier with lubing the bushing. In my opinion a dedicated bearing oil is best, then an other oil (I used chain lube for my mountainbike) and as third choice WD40 or something. WD40 is always better than no lubricant at all!! Cleaning the motor and lubing it WD40 is way, way better than running a dirty motor.
