I didn’t realize you can use clearcoat varnish over wax!

It's not recommended. Only some waxes work and I'm using VERY little if it to work within a low tolerance

This is absolutely stunning! Just one question from a novice. I thought that varnish over wax doesn't stick. Am I wrong?

Just another novice to say, let your wax cure for 4-5 days, it hardens and then you can top coat.

I always have to laugh when you have to explain it's not an authentic piece so you can paint.. I wish people would just stop telling furniture artist not to paint things, that piece is one of those Hobby Lobby, Home goods, Pier One pieces that are always somehow unendingly on 75% discount... to prove people are naive and think they are worth something, I saw one similar in a goodwill last week and they had a $450 price tag on it, like a priceless antique!!.. I cracked up, it wasn't worth that much new, WITHOUT the 75% discount..lol
