I wrote you guys before about this drone and I want to quickly re-cap my experience. The first time I got it, it was completely screwed up, backward propellers, not binding, flipping and crashing , high engine revving all by itself etc... after a million emails back & forth with the company and finally being sent a new one (black edition), I finally took it out today for it's maiden flight after it seemed to work better than the first ( indoors). Outside it binded, GPS etc... I tried all the options, follow me, alt hold, return to home and the engines were the quietest I've ever heard. It landed and when I push the button 3x for auto take off and it showed me a brand new feature ... I think they call it " Fly to the moon and never come back" 🤤😲 That's right it took off straight up and kept going no matter what I did. Like you said it has a mind of it's own. I hit every button, even turned it off but nothing. It kept going and going and going until I couldn't see it anymore 😢😭 I can't believe it because when it worked, it worked really well but now it's gone forever. First day out and it left me, maybe it returned home to China.

Hello Dwayne! It's hard to see all of our comments all the time, but we do try our best to keep up with everyone. I'd highly recommend that any maiden should be done outdoors for safety sake. Also, a drone this size and having brushless motors should almost always be flown outside unless you have access to a gym or something. Same tip goes for the GPS, as I don't think this has visual positioning, it's not really meant to be flown indoors. So sorry to hear about your bad experience my friend. I hate that, and wish we could have just returned that one all together for you and pointed you in the direction of something a bit nicer. Nearly anything would have been a better experience than that! Hope your next drone experience goes better than that!

damn it. that sucks. I had a different drone and it would not come down, it was at about 100 feet high and wanted to keep going up. I held it in the down position on my xmitter and that held it in place. I had to hold it there for about 8 minutes till the battery started to drain down. It has never done that again. that sucks

This was for sale for $119 for about a week a couple weeks ago. I have the optical positioning model and have found that the orbit(surround me) feature does not work well but the follow me does once you have it pointed in the right direction. I don't like that there are no proper labels on any of the switches or buttons but after you get used to it it's ok. Just NEVER switch it from GPS to manul while flying. Left switch from 2 to 1. It will drop like a rock, mine did earlier today when I hit the switch accidentally. I have attached an action camera to it and it seems to work pretty well so far. Thank you for sharing. Have fun!!

That's an amazing price on it, though in our opinions not really worth that either. If the battery has potential to fall out mid flight, it's not really worth half that honestly. These drones come with a protective piece of tape inside the battery bay to keep the battery from engaging during shipping, common problem is not removing that tape and jamming the battery in. this drone in the version 2 , is also programmable with flight software. mine works great. the camera/gimbal are trash, toss them. add a camera. I bought this for the features, and for the price, can't beat it. on fun thing is placing the transmitter on top of a rc car, put in follow me (it follows the transmitter) and drive your car, the drone will happily follow along. this is a blast with a go pro type camera onboard the drone.

dixies undertale Well I guess my review of my CG035 Black version will have to wait for another day. I fully charged the battery (at least I thought so, both green lights on the charger were on) put everything in turned on both e the quad and radio, all 4 lights stayed on the the receiver and never went out. The quad quietly beeped and the red & green lights kept blinking. The binding never worked, nor did the GPS lights. The book indicates red & green lights blinking means low battery ..... 🤔 but didn't I just charge it for a couple of hours, anyway I'm trying it again ... will report next time. 😎

I was know your dad had the same quad and was going to ask if he has the same problems but I see some comments from some that have this one without problems. Great idea having a separate battery for the camera/gimbal equals longer IF it lasts as least as the flight time. Are there USB ports to update the quad, gimbal and camera? Other then the problems you had with this one at 155 bucks it's certainly a feature packed quad. *Dance the Skies*

It is very featured packed but that battery connection issue on 2/2 we've had is a pretty big deal breaker for us, though might be perfect for someone who likes to tinker. Happy Flying!

you are right about the camera gimbal thing., toss it. but this will carry a go pro stile camera, and the display you got seems older. mine came with a covered clover leaf antenna. also make sure its the version 2 software. mine is and is stable as heck. just wanted pass this along. mine was 196 dollars. did I say you can program the parameters?

got this one but the new version :-) Did you do right when it comes to Follow me mode? I mean the left switch should be as you said in GPS hold wich is 2. The right switch should be in number 1 (normal mode) and than you shall press the buttons (the left one) on the right switch side. It should work. everytime. Mine is doing great when it comes to follow me. Never mind about my question. Did now see that he found the right buttons there.... :-) It should follow the GPS in your tx for RTH/RTL and FOllow me mode. I do have some stange issue that it seems like it sometimes can do movements on its own. Mine do not go up like yours. mine is actually going forward in a very strange movement sometimes. When I connected my quad to the Ground Station software you can see that somehow the sticks is moving all the time, and your aint touching theme. SO maybe the tx is the problem. The TX is kinda cheap. What I can understand Aosenma has taken good components for the quad like motors, gps and compass and such. Gps is good in the TX as well, but the rest is not the same quality. It flies good, its fast, but mine has kinda really bad breaking ability. Its really hard to make it stop going in some directions. God things that works nice, is Follow me, RTL and automatic launch and automatic land. If they just did a good tx.... I am thinking about getting a new TX, to see if mine is kinda faulty when it comes to the stick. The sad part is though, mine did actually work perfectly the maiden flight. But only that time. And during that time, it behaved like a phantom 3. Rock-steady in the air when it hovers. No prolblem controlling it, with stearing och getting it to stop. So its strange how a bird can work really great at some time, and the rest i have problems like it can go straight... I actually had to calibrate it a little wrong to make it go straight.Because straight forward was for the quad suddenly forward a little to the right. :-) But in a sense I do like this quad. it has redeeming qualities. The props dont break that isea.... my god, they are thick... lol.

BY the way, I don't have the battery issue on mine black version. No problems at all. :-) I do not have good flight time though. I have online 9-10minuts of flight. My good, I am getting scared the quad will crash. Because thats the batterywarning.... and what I heard it will just go down when the battery is low.

Thanks Guys for an honest review! My battery mods included replacing the connector with an original WSDeans version, filing down the battery latch flange, slight mod to the battery entry area and lastly inserting a thin piece of rubber from a rubber band under the battery catch. All these battery problems have been reported to Cai Guozhen the factory boss! My experience of the wifi camera version was bad! Camera DOA charger also failed and v poor range using iphone. Camera runs at a very high temperature!

The upward flying tendency of the drone is scary!!!! I have a drone that did that. The only way to bring it down was to do flips until it responded to the Auto-land feature.

That's exactly what I was thinking when the problem showed up and it's no different than losing a cell while the quad is in flight. Intermittent power connections on electronic circuits can guarantee component failure.

You have to review the one you get in your hands (and that is your strong point) and that is a problem with this Quad. Two of my friends bought it last time it was "on offer" and one worked almost perfectly out of the box (the camera/gimbal was a bit low spec) and one had more problems than even yours did. There is a gimbal adjustment somewhere on the controls I think (And both of them read the destructions thoroughly and the reviews/tech threads before flying) Based on your experiences and theirs I wouldn't buy it. Minimal set-up tinkering I can live with but this, all too often, seems to require more than that. Honest review

I bought this drone and like it very much, but it's gimbals are small servos and they both burned out very quickly (almost immediately) and the battery for the camera/transmitter is not big enough to fly very long ,but should last for at least one flight . I did not have any problem with the main battery connection ever. It has some issues, but many good features for the price.

I have seen a lot of bad reviews of this quadcopter, especially the early version of it. DJ Soul Force went through three of them because of malfunctioning GPS, bad gimbals, and even a fly away situation, where the quadcopter got stuck in the middle of Auto landing and hovered until it completely burned out its LiPo battery. It looks great on paper, but it seems to suffer severe quality control issues.

I have watched nearly every review of multirotor that you guys have done. It hasn't just help me decide what to buy and what not to buy, it is also help me understand what makes for a good quadcopter what makes for a bad quadcopter. I've learned a lot about the technology along the way. I have a 2 year old boy who, because I've spent a lot of time learning about drones by way of KZbin while taking care of him at home, has decided that quadcopter reviews are high entertainment. He will take a quadcopter review over cartoons, movies, or even many of his toys. You two are his favorites to watch, especially when Popeye is on screen. This means that some of your reviews I've watched two or three times now. Personally, I would love to see you guys do a review of the parrot AR.Drone 2.0 Elite. It's an old one, and was one of the first commercially available drones on the market; at this point it probably doesn't stack up all that well to newer technology, but I find it a real pleasure to fly. Although, I use a Bluetooth game controller connected to my phone so that I have sticks. Quick question, have you guys ever thought about grabbing a music stand to bring with you to reviews? I find it's a really easy way to set up an fpv monitor or a phone when it won't fit in the controller.

I have a cg035. After reading the rewritten Elios-Hendrik manual and doing the calibration correctly it flies and does exactly what they claim. The gimbel and camera is not of the best but no other in the price range has a good camera. Noticed that you where not quite familiar with the control and switches. Don't write of the drone before you know what the switches do. Like the follow me switch. You were quick to say its hog wash....but you did not select the switch. As for the battery...this is normally caused by hasty buyers trying to inserting the battery without removing the protection over the contacts and thus bending the connector. You did not check out everything before the test. There is no telemetry, the osd is the channel and battery of the fpv unit. Many faults in your presentation such as pointing to the red leds on the receive as a button which must be pressed. Overall a badly prepared test. Please do all your homework before testing the unit and familiarize yourself with the operation of the controls before going to the field.

I have read most (if not all) of the posts here and I do not see where anyone has asked whether you bothered to check for and remove the protection on the battery connection posts that it ships with. Usually styrofoam and can really mess up connection. Instructions do caution you to do this!

If you have the money to buy one of these DON'T!! if this is your budget" Then get the BUGS 2👍 it's an Amazing drone that's safe and responsive, and reliable. It has GPS return home, and return home if signal lost. And when the battery is low it comes home, I have got one and it's an amazing drone for the cost. This one in the video is Awful. Now I'm getting a" dgi " As the BUGS 2 is a great starter if your new to drones. The BUGS 2 uses a android or iPhone for your heads up display, and has a great signal. Don't waste your money on this drone.

Haha, you are right, I think they installed that button on drone. If you read my most recent msg above I pushed the return to manufacture button and it did. It went up into space and back to China and I never saw it again. 😠

Rapid rise in atmospheric pressure will cause an altitude error if the altitude of the drone is derived from a pressure sensor and not the GPS.

Btw, Cali is easy ,, right switch, after turn on,, 3-5 till lights in back blinkgreen, let chill a few moments , then left switch 3-5 times, then back to 1 pos, then turn 360 6 times, , done with Cali, btw rcsaylors , the up-and-down pitching was more than likely due to the barometer sensing the coming storm cell that was right in the camera shot the whole entire time just trying to give you a heads I mean after all that's what a barometer does, it measures the pressure in the air and when the storm cells are forming it builds up pressure hence the up-and-down pitching anyways yeah I I had to say at first I thought you guys were going to trash this the whole time but I figured give it a moment and as I suspected you guys will love it more as you fly it yes you are correct as well that is not a beginner's though too much can go wrong for that kind of money not to mention instructions stuff but there's plenty of instructional aides on line the second one isn't that much different I just knew how to fly it so I know what to do right off the bat but you have to go full system is not that great or whatever they're calling it it was cool at first but he hardly noticed a difference afterwards it's no longer working at the moment anyway anyways I speak from experience because this was actually one of my first real deal like expensive quads back on the road like 300 and I was scared to death and Wrecking it constantly now I flight like a sport flyer without the legs all over the mat she hauled ass she's kind of like a racer when you don't have the legs on and again will I mean she pushes 40 Easy did she can take a lot of wind I got it out and some stuff I shouldn't have but she handled it threw it back at me just like the bugs she's basically a comparison to the bugs with more features in a higher price Tag
