You can scoot the alligator clips up so the can't short or put pc tape on middle one. Good vid!

Connecting the scope probe ground clips to nodes that are at different potentials (different voltages) can cause problems and possibly fry stuff. i have the same oscilloscope, i tried exactly what you did but i got a lot of jitter in my signal, can you please tell me how you got such a clear signal

Oh yeah, it's way easier to not spend $20 on an LC meter and just use a $2000 drill press! Personally, I use a 3 million dollar electron microscope sitting in my basement since most people have one.
