Jill, I just love the red rubber stamps from PB - especially with this technique. This year I used “Warm Reception” as my Christmas card design. And you know me I just had to zhoosh it up. I stamped with antique linen distress ink and the watercolored with my distress inks. But I did stop there. I put in detail with my colored pencils and then added glittered snow. I trimmed the edge of my card panel with my gold pen and backed it with red card stock. As with all PB stamps the results were beautiful even if I do say so myself 😉. Such a lovely card! Do ever use Distress Oxide ink for painting? I don’t remember you mentioning it at all. I know it’s more opaque, so maybe it wouldn’t work as well.

Beautiful! Can we stamp (any brushstroke) with the archival ink first, i always have trouble seeing where one part of the image stops and the other one starts.

Yep! If you use a very light ink you can add other colors on top of it. Also, having the stamp packaging handy can be helpful. -Jill

Thanks for watching! You can often get the ink applied with regular sized ink pads, especially if you turn them to the side or use the corner of the ink pad at an angle. You can also use waterbased markers to apply color to the stamp. Finger-daubers *might* work, but may not be able to apply quite enough ink for a detailed impression. Happy stamping! -Jill
