Some decent works of architecture, but the EU Parliament building is one of the worst pieces of architecture I've never seen. And none of the buildings really fit into their urban context or, for that matter, stand out from it as poignant pieces of architecture representing the transnational government of great importance that the EU is. I don't understand why Brussels has done such a poor job with something as important as this.

I do agree with you, I might get a bit better in the future with the new EU buildings planned on the rue de la loi, but for the parliament and the consilium it is kind of to late now :(

Maybe that's because all of Europe doesn't look the same and you had this singular impression of a single European culture/style.

@@Gliese380 As a European. The cities look very similar, especially the old parts of cities. But you know, Europe is also in the 21th century, there are parts that are modern :)
