Can’t believe I’m just discovering this band. They were WAY ahead of their time.
@amjan Жыл бұрын
They were indeed! They were the innovators of melodic math metal coming directly from Meshuggah influence. They were the very first band to add harmony and melody to build on what Meshuggah established in the early 2000's. All the bands like Periphery, Tesseract, Animals As Leaders came on the path Textures had created.

One of the few bands who sound just as good live as they do in studio. Super stoked they're back.
@AJDOLDCHANNELARCHIVE2 ай бұрын
Absolutely! As a Brit who managed to see them live a couple of times through my friends' festival they were always killer live, and the songwriting is just so good that I listen to "Drawing Circles" and "Silhouettes" on a weekly basis riding around on my electric bicycle, and singing along with the clean parts that I vaguely know the lyrics to haha!
@DeanThomson6 жыл бұрын
I was heartbroken when they called it a day. I've been a fan of them for over a decade. Never got to see them live as they never came down to Australia. But out of all the bands I love this band has a type of energy I've never experienced. The flow of their movements together is fucking amazing - not to mention all phenomonal musicians.

holy shit yeah, even though there is a good discussion to be had about various members, man your point still stands. the fucking raw emotion behind alot of their stuff is crazy. of course all amazing musicians, clearly they are playing to the song rather than 'showing off'.. although the vocalists have to kind of 'show off' if they want westerners to listen to their music as thats what most of 'us' are used to. either way holy shit, no matter who you think they "sound like", you have to admit, nobody really(that i have heard so far) put this stuff together in a way they did. and it actually landed well. to top it off they played all their stuff almost perfectly in the live settings besides stuff thats nearly impossible to recreate.. mainly getting at some of the vocal work here... amazing.
@MrPeterpommes3 жыл бұрын
I've seen them in one of their last gigs in Euroblast Festival in cologne 2018 Especially when laments of an icarus kicked in, the people went crazy. Loved it.
