There is a reason I chose to say nothing more on the matter so please can you respect that & not bring anybody down. There is absolutely nothing in this video that portrays why I no longer wish to work with my coach (yeah he pushes me, but that was not in anyway the issue - growth comes out of the comfort zone). I have both personal as well as professional reasons for making this decision. It’s not one I made lightly & I’m extremely sad I had to make it. X

I think it’s okay for Steph to decide to stop working with her coach, but the comments aren’t fair at all! An athlete’s success is a coach’s success, and a lot of the times when a coach sees potential, they might unintentionally push that person knowing how great they are! Sometimes it becomes personal because the coach and athlete become one. So all the comments aren’t truly nice the way they are directed towards Andrew. I think that’s the same coach who got her to the world’s champs. And her progress in triathlon has been truly inspiring, which is why we follow her! So Kudos to you Andrew. And kudos to you Steph. Sometimes it’s as simple as : we just don’t see eye to eye anymore.

The coach you benefit from most can be like a therapist - push the buttons to help you go forward but also knows when to step back to relieve the pressure. You got here with his help but if you feel you need a change from an all or nothing attitude, take care of yourself and make the change. I hope you and your family come through this rough patch on the sunny side.

Is wine a carb? If so, that's my favourite carb. I'm sorry to hear life has been less than savoury. Life is difficult at the best of times when it throws curve balls, but being in the limelight and being an influencer at the same time is super difficult. I hope life starts picking up again soon. Remember the chapter "Be Kind To Everyone" in "Now Is The Way" by Cory Allen. Everything will be okay. After losing my Mum, I had to just take 1 hour at a time. One breath at a time. You've got this! It might be difficult but the sun will still rise tomorrow. The dark periods may be dark, but it never lasts forever. Essay over. You've got this. (I wrote before Andrew said to comment, but it can be aimed at both.)

@elliematthews957 ай бұрын
Why?
@JuliaJiggs7 ай бұрын
@@elliematthews95 I think she needs someone who is more encouraging and empathetic. Pushing someone out of their comfort zone is important, but I think it can be too much. Steph had a family member not doing well and during the tough ride she seemed absolutely miserable. Andrew seems like the type of coach who will push you to be your best physically, no matter how the person feels. I think Steph should find someone who allows her to enjoy the sport more, because that's what life is about. She's not training to become a pro triathlete (which is how it seems Andrew is going at it); she's said the world champs will likely be her last triathlon.
@woodroffecoaching7 ай бұрын
@@JuliaJiggs thanks for the comment, I have coached for over 8 years and worked with athletes of all level and ability. What you have seen here is not a fair portrayal nor really the full picture of what happened and what was communicated. I value athletes as people before the sport first and foremost and I’m sure all of the athletes I work with would tell you how flexible I am with their life and personal situations time and time Again. Steph came out to Zurich to climb for an event and challenge she had lined up. There was time to change plans, change the ride and ideas but as you know she liked to push on a challenge. Im sure if you see other videos you will understand we had a close working relationship where I am very flexible, understanding, move training if anyone needs it. I would never push someone physically if it’s not needed or wanted. Athlete health is my first priority. I think there was been quite a misunderstanding here and it’s been put across an unfair portrayal. Thank you.
@ctclaunch7 ай бұрын
@@woodroffecoaching it seems that Steph's emotional and mental health could have been cared for and prioritized more.
@woodroffecoaching7 ай бұрын
Hi folks. It's quite hard reading some of your comments and accusations that seem to be made towards myself. I do not believe you are seeing the full picture or understanding what was communicated or the objectives of the trip. I have always and will always be a flexible coach, I change plans wherever athletes need for their lifestyle, motivation whatever else. I very much believe in the person before the athlete. Steph came out to Zurich to focus on climbing for a challenge she had lined up and was aware of the plan, routes and training. I would have been more than happy to change plans do something different or not at all had this been asked or communicated. I would have never forced an athlete to do something they do not wish to do that is simply absurd. As you know Steph likes to challenge herself and this was no different. What is being put across and said is an unfair portrayal and I believe if you watch previous videos see my style, my values and the way I am With athletes you would understand that. I wouldn't judge someone and their career they have worked hard to build by a few snippets. Thank you.
