A year ago today I posted a video about my recent diagnosis with Parkinson's disease. Today I am feeling very reflective on this grim anniversary. Many people found my channel from that video and sent sympathy messages and I am very appreciative of that. Thank you all.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. My father-in-law has Parkinson’s and it’s hard for me to understand what he’s going through because he’s a very reticent man. Now I have some idea of where he’s coming from. Also, thanks for sharing your experience with the medical intervention available now. You are quite the brave man. I hope you keep having fun with music and make wonderful pieces for many years to come. ❤❤❤

I think sharing the details of your experience with Parkinsons is so important so that others who watch this will know that they are not alone in their daily struggles with it also. Great video!

I wish you the all the best with dealing with your terrible disease John, really heavy to deal with, not only physical but specially mentally. I've been sick now for over 6 months and the doctors can't explain it nor find any cause. This stuff really freaks me out mentally sometimes, a possibility is that it's chronic and never will go away again. Totally screw my life up, there are a lot of things I can't do anymore which is hard to deal with. Sometimes I can handle it because it is what it is, (like you said; you get used to it) but mostly it is really frustrating not being able to do things that were easy and automatic before. The most important thing is to stay positive and do the things that are still possible, playing in a band isn't possible for me anymore because after 5 minutes I end up totally exhausted. That's why I love mixing so much, I can learn doing it fast and take regular breaks which is good for the mix and possible with my disease.

I hope you get some progress on getting to the bottom of it. Living with an "unknown" unknown neurological disorder was frustrating, and I was hoping it was a result of COVID and either would get better or at least not get worse. So I can relate to that feeling of it being unknown. Easy for the mind to go to worse case scenarios. Glad you can still mix, music is such a great outlet for enhancing your life. Take care.

Thank you. It's just the way I've trained myself to be. I try to approach hardships as positively as I approach successes. Life is just a series of experiences, some good, some bad. Experience them as best you can and keep on learning.

Thank you for sharing. I'm lucky so far as my symptons are mostly mild while taking Levadopa. Still hoping for a long, long, slow progression. Cheers.

Thank you. Other than my back being out of whack for some reason, my Parkinson's has been very managable this week.

@@lmrecorders I was thinking it might be that but it sounds way better than the one I had. I had one of the China made models but the early Latvian I have tried at other studio always sounded way better to my ears.

@@joesalyers Maybe it's the console, haha. I think they are great sounding mics for the price and I really like them on spoken recordings, or male vocalists. Also might be the treatment in my control room. The space is very non-reflective.

Parkinson's is a bitch. My mother in law had it. I wish you the best in dealing with it. I appreciate the personal insights, too. I really don't know much about it or how it works.
