Good run, thanks for sharing. I like how thorough you are, even clearing the elevator room when you know there's nobody in there. Makes the more like a real movie! I can see that you know how to properly pie around a corner and use cover to minimize the angles, and you do it pretty well. I also like how you crouch down to the side of the door and open them, very good. I learned from many deaths in Brutal DOOM that it's the only way to survive lol. But I also see that you have trouble with every T junction going through every door that you see. 4:00 and 4:55 are perfect examples, and you actually got shot at the latter time for doing it wrong. I could literally use this footage to show people the wrong way to do it and why lol. It's cool tho, you obviously recognize the areas as dangerous and do your best to get through, but you don't know the optimum way to handle it and end up making it more dangerous for yourself Here's a hint from how real operators deal with the same problem (one way, at least, that works best in video games IMO). Make a U shape before the T junction, to see as much as you possibly can before going through. Like this, if the T is the shape of the terrain and the U is the path of your movement. T U This way, you can see all but to the very sides of the way you need to go, before you go. They are called soft corners when this method lets you see them, and hard corners when you can't see them. At 4:55, you got shot in the back by a guard in the hard corner. You peeked through the door to check the left, exposing your back to the right. You then duck back through and poke back out facing the other way, because you seem to know no other way to do it. The problem is probably obvious to you lol, you can't see both hard corners at once. No matter which way you do it, you can be shot the direction you're not looking. Here's the best way to deal with it. Dash through the door moving quickly to full speed, after doing your U motion, and looking at the hard corner you most expect the enemy to be in. Shoot the enemy while moving. Rapid fire helps, I'd have been using the MP40 this entire time instead of the Kar98k. As you move through the door or past the junction, once the one corner is clear, you continue to move quickly as you whirl around and deal with the other corner. The movement is your cover, by moving quickly and suddenly you will be a difficult target, even in the open (and you can of course use whatever terrain is in the room as cover from the uncleared corner as you dash through). Popping predictably out of the place you just looked around like you do every time makes you very easy to shoot, even tho you have the door as cover. I know the way that I describe is still not perfect, I know. But tactics is the art of how to do inherently dangerous things with as little risk as possible. Even if you had another person with you, and you go through the door or past the junction one after the other, you still have an uncleared hard corner with one person's back facing it, until the 2nd person follows behind to deal with it. It's better tho. Your way at 4:55 is the worst possible way to do it, trust me. Ask anyone who's ever breached doors lol So ultimately, there's nothing to do but go for it! Hanging out in the "fatal funnel" as its called, will only get you shot I'm not criticizing you harshly, only trying to help you be a better gamer and have more fun. It's a shame to see all your reflexes go to waste because of tactics you don't know. If you REALLY want to get better at FPS, order the DVD "The Tactical Advantage" by Gabriel Suarez. It's very simple and easy for anyone to understand and apply, you don't need to be a Navy SEAL. It made me better at FPS than anything else, and was a major milestone in my personal self-defense training IRL. I think once you see the professional solutions, you'll get the idea right away and see how much less you get shot in games, and how HEAVY the penalty is for doing it non-professional ways lol My only other advice is to stay back from cover. Once the object is between you, and they can't see you, it will stop their shot. Don't worry. But when you walk right up next to the cover, you yourself can't see as much. And if they get to an angle to see and shoot around your cover, you have nowhere to go. Hang back about 5 feet or so from whatever apex you're working. This way, larger movements will reveal less terrain, so you don't twitch over a little bit and reveal 20 degrees of corner pie full of enemies, it gives you more fine control as you pie, because of geometry. And when you move back behind cover, you're not stuck in a corner because you're close to the apex. When cover is a bit of distance away, simply moving over a bit will cut the angle again and restore your cover. I really like your play style. It makes for good Hollywood style shooting movies, especially if you fixed the one major and one minor tactical errors I see :)

I actually didn't know that nobody is there. In this mod, there is many more enemies than in the original game, and there are levels in which there actually is a soldier in the elevator.

@@justsomeguy3931 Amazing. I would have never thought someone could apply real-life room clearing tactics to such an old and simplistic game. But i will probably disappoint you here because i'm not that type of guy who would take these shooters too seriously, i play it only time to time for fun to release stress. I go much more hardcore in flight simulation and air combat, where i do want to know as many real-life tactics as possible, but that's probably not your cup of tea.

@@Youda00008 Return to Castle Wolfenstein. But not all gun sounds were from that game. The MP40, for example, used to be louder and stronger, but here, it's definitely from CoD1.
