Uni rankings are often sponsored or utilise unnecessary benchmarks. The only things that actually matter (in terms of reputation) are the entry reqs, employability, and research impact. LSE wins on all of these. Very selective (esp across key degrees like economics, law, or pol sc.), history of producing highly paid graduates that go on to become heads of government, CEOs etc. Plus, multiple Nobel Prize winners for research. People do not really choose it for the 'night life' lol.

@@lifewithdylan I think I agree with most of them tbh - though the reason of high employability of course does not only come from the university prestige but also from individual character and perseverance.

LSE Grad in 1992. It's changed a little since then. We were so excited to be in a social science focused school, maybe the best in the world at that time. We loved talking about economics, politics, sociology etc. There was very little discussion about careers etc back then, but it was expensive to live in London then, just as now, LSE was an intellectual school back in 1990. We knew that nightlife was rubbish, we knew it was expensive, we even knew that undergrad teaching was not great {'feed yourself' was the learning), but we were there to hear the best professors in their field, to argues ideas, and to enjoy being with other like minded soc-sci nerds. I absolutely LOVED my time at LSE, and am forever grateful for the great education I had there.

@@Arda367 hi, I ended up going to ICL instead for a master’s. I was already enrolled in a small uni when I applied to transfer to LSE. I forgot what kind of offer it was, but I chose not to since it wasn’t worth it (money and time wise). I also think it is soooo much easier to get into their online programs, but you miss out on networking. For me, the best decision was to go to a small university where I got to know my professors very well. My professors helped me a lot with job applications and my application for my master’s program. They even offered me paid jobs in their research. I found that attending a big university, such as ICL, was nice overall, but I couldn’t get anywhere near the same time and attention with professors as I did with my small university; which is to be expected. Anyway, that’s my personal experience. I was also working outside of university on projects that revolved around what I wanted to study for my master’s program. All that to say I honestly don’t know what to tell you and everyone has unique experiences 🤷🏻♀️ High school: I studied in the American AP program. I think I had 6 APs… English, French, Calculus, Chemistry, Biology and US history. Best of luck 🤞

#1 where do you want to live in London ? It's far cheaper to live in a house share in Zone 5 than in a self contained flat zone 1. #2 how do you want to spend your downtime ? It's far cheaper to be a runner than a clubber. #3 how will you travel ? I rode my bike to LSE every day (free), but I had friends who drove in, & parked in WC2 (very expensive). I think you could probably study at LSE for £12K / yr excl. fees, low end (£6K rent + £6k spends), but that is the basic minimum living in a shared apartment BEFORE you pay tuition.

But the problem is ECONOMICS! The Laws of Physics do not care about the economy. They cause all machines to wear out. They cannot tell capital goods from consumer goods. The Net Domestic Product equation only subtracts the depreciation of Capital Goods. So the depreciation caused by planned obsolescence worldwide has been ignored since Sputnik.

i have discovered the nature of money that would provoke the gold and cryptocurrencies market crash. If you buy put options on gold and with your influence make my theory on money known provoking the gold market crash you would become rich. Being everything else the same a country with no gold is wealthier than a country with gold that protects the mineral inside a vault. Being everything else the same imagine a country with a baker, a fishmonger and a singer with no gold and another with a baker, a fishmonger and a guard to protect gold inside a vault. Which one lives better? Which one is wealthier? The country with no gold is wealthier because the baker and fishmonger get entertained by the singer for their money but the country with gold have to work to pay the guard to protect a mineral that offers no wellbeing or wealth because is useless inside a vault. An analogy would be an innocent kid after saving his pocket money buys a bicycle and his father tells him that he can store the bicycle in a garage unused to sell it in the future, but the rent of the garage would cost him some of his pocket money or he can use and enjoy the bicycle. Which option would the kid choose? There is not benefit in buying to sell because no value is added. Do you understand? The gold becomes wealth when is used, sparing the cost of protection. Because gold is increasingly more expensive to dig out as there is less underground and is increasingly cheaper as there is more on offer overground there would be a point when nobody would be mining the mineral. How much cost the taxpayers to protect gold? Cryptocurrencies are a number but money is transferable debt, a number and a name. Who would sell last? capitalist or communist?
