What make this case significant os involvement of state machinery in protecting culprits and hiding evidences, that too when the case involves a medical worker who works for the society at all times whether night or day as per their duty. At the other thing that should raise ears is absolute mockery of democracy and protesters by WB CM. Everyone knows what she is doing. But some are just silent because they have already sold their conscience and now have become a culprit themselves. Yes, you can divert the gaze as much as you can, you can talk about some other Grape case some where else, even cases from outside. But CAN YOU HIDE the involvement of state machinery in protecting the culprits, and doing injustice to late victim and her family. CAN YOU?

State machinery has always worked against the vulnerable. From Hathras to Sandeshkhali. From Bilkis Bano to R.G. Kar. I don't think the point here is that she was a doctor. But that she was a human being. If she were a nurse. A receptionist. The ward helper...it would and should have been just as shocking. It is weird how people are focusing on her profession and not on her as a person.

Let me deconstruct those two misconceptions or mental gymnastics of yours (that's also for you to ask yourself) State machinery does not mean an MP, his gundas, or corrupt local police, because-- ALL THOSE CAN STILL BE TRIED IN A COURT OF LAW, by involvement of similar level legislative and executive. Example- if the Inspector is corrupt and trying to protect a MP in some crime, Courts can ask for SIT, suspension and punish him for exact crimes. Whereas in this scenario the courts distrust the executive, i.e the WHOLE state Police and executive body are unreliable and basically protecting one ruling party. You may not be deficient in mind but you sure are a culprit at heart, if this simple concept didn't catch your eyes and instead you preferred to look over it and equate this with other instances. Atiq ahmad, mukhtar ansari, vikas dubey.. and many other, they still had criminal cases against them, with investigations on going. Though we know they ki!!ed many people in cold blood, during their party's reign, still the courts nor the police could prove them innocent, because police was weak but not totally unreliable. And here in West Bengal you have your own CM staging a mockery protest. And your other point-- why does it matter if she was a medico or not.. ask that one more time when someone close to you would need an emergency medical care in the middle of the night, in a glistening city or the most distant town with minimum facilities. Why safety of someone who's job is for societal wellfare, should be a priority? I am not telling you but ask yourself - should you be ashamed? Was it right to equate this incident (where culprits have fled and evidences erased and now a mockery of public outrage) with ones where culprits are already behind bars and tried in court? Imagine yourself saying why only Nirbhaya when before crimes like that happened.. this is exactly what you are saying now. My rant is not to prove you wrong here in comments, that's for you to ask yourself, my rant is to swiftly take you down from your laughable moral high horsing when you are actually the part of the problem.
