The 80's nostalgia had such a effect that it actively just bled into 90's nostalgia. There are so many shows that started on the 80s that lasted into the 90s and songs that were still played into the 90s that 90s kids have just a tad bit of that 80s in them too

@@JinnaiT I'm a 90s kid too, but I remember the 80s as well and I can tell you that being an 80s kid rocked. Parents weren't uptight and overprotective like they are now. I was only 6, but I rode my bike all over and hung out with friends 'till dusk on the weekdays. Now being a TEEN in the 80s would have been dream come true. None of this phone tag BS parents play now with their teen kids to make sure their 'OK'. No effing Zoom in lieu of real human contact. You could ask the cute coworker at your McJob out on a date without risking a sexual harassment charge. Everyone drank and smoked weed (and occasionally snorted coke), but you didn't have kids dropping like flies from ODing on fentanyl or becoming tweakers. But then there was Reagan...

With each passing year I am more and more appreciative of growing up in the 80s. To me, it was the last decade of innocence for youth. We hadn't been infiltrated with cell phones, social media, and other forms of technology that took us away from the organic and meaningful relationships we cultivated growing up in that era. It was the absolute best of times and I wish I could relive it all over again. Such nostalgia. ❤

1988 here - there was some bleedover of 80s culture in the 90s and especially kids shows and commercials were slower to adapt than mainstream culture. Edgy grunge culture may have been in full swing by the mid 90s but that Sunny D commercial was still total cheese, and the Pokemon theme was total Bon Jovi. The movies being played on TV were usually older ones from the 80s and early 90s with that beautiful film grain and lighting that went away sometime in the 90s.

I turn 60 tomorrow. I was in my prime in the 80's. I have to say though, I am grateful for the 80's but I'm also happy in the present. Time does not stand still so live in the moment and live life like you may not be here tomorrow. We can get lost in life's surprises and left turns when you wanted to go right, but that is life. Easier said than done. It takes practice but it is much better than thinking your best is behind you. I'm not talking about trying to hang on to youth, I'm talking about living in the right now. Great song and video pairing. Thank you.

Thanks, THE MIDNIGHT for constantly transporting me to the best years of my life. I grew up in the 70s-80s and don't believe I've ever been as happy as I was then. Sadly, I wished to grow up faster, but had I known how much it actually sucks to be an adult I would have paid more attention to the wonderful time I was having riding my BMX bike, playing Pac-Man, reading comics, playing Wiffle Ball and Manhunt with my friends and the general safety and security I felt. If you're a kid or teenager reading this please, PLEASE make sure you appreciate every minute of every day, you will only be this old once, and someday the people you love and maybe take for granted will start disappearing. Make sure you make great memories and don't be in a rush to grow up.

The decade of the 80's, from 13 to 23 for me was extremely perfect for me... 56 now and still feel like a teen deep in my heart. I feel bad kids for 13 to 23 now, they'll never ever come close to what we had, bums me out! Cancelling people, internet threats, no dating, every kid today is worried shitless about everything. Apps, cell phones and social media is ruining it for them. Get out there, talk face to face... Engage with conversation, take a girl out to dinner, pay for her meal... Open the door for her, ask how she feels, make each other smile, don't be rude, be respectful appreciate the time together, turn that frown upside down as they say! Kindness and appreciation and thoughtfulness go soooooooo far.

Sadly, you are wrong. The US has gone into the toilet for more reasons than need to be listed here. The 90s were the last great decade, the 2000s the begin of decline and since 2020, there is more stupidity and and idiocy than this country has ever seen. The scary part is, a large majority of people seem to like it this way...@@ylekiote99999

It’s simpler times. Those waves of nostalgia that hit us when you hear a specific sound, a familiar aroma, or even a voice. I remember one time I heard someone laugh a particular way in the middle of a crowded street downtown and it gave me a vivid feeling from high school romance lol. Nostalgia is bittersweet sometimes, but it’s a beautiful thing and helps us appreciate what memories we’ve made

The 80s were great, but the nostalgia for it gets a bit too much these days. There was plenty of crap too lol. In the 90s, young people thought the 80s were “cringe”, as the kids say. It’s all cyclical. Always remember the good stuff, no matter when it comes out

@@jlee2383 The 90s were a reaction to the 80s cheese for sure. That said, as a 90s/00s kid looking back, I find the edgelord culture of that era to be pretentious and far more "cringe" than anything from the 80s. There's enough misery in the world as is without wallowing in it intentionally for appearances. I'll take the unrealistic starry eyed escapism of the 80s with full awareness that it's just that - escapism to help you get by.
