I don’t usually comment, but I’ve been listening for years. Instead of focusing on the negatives in this comment, the one positive thing I thought we got from this game was that the young guys that we have been calling to perform, showed up today. I thought Tolbert and Schoonmaker played well. Bryan you were calling for Schoonmaker to have a 4/48 game, he had 6/43 today… that’s progress. Tolbert was 6/82… both guys showed some growth. Love the show!

Good post. That’s the best way you can look at it. Most people won’t look at any positives but other than the horrible defense, they did some good things on offense and B.Aubrey is arguably the best kicker in the NFL, so at least there’s that

This kind of catastrophic failure by a defense simply can't happen especially on a good team that's considered a playoff team. I'm not talking about getting an ass whoopin....that happens I'm talking about a complete inability to even be competitive and unable to stop a single play pass or run. This has now happened TWICE in a row at home and with two different DCs. How is it possible for a team to look this lost and this grossly unprepared once much less TWICE especially with a bunch of new guys and a new DC with a different scheme??? This is mind blowing to me and exposes a much, much deeper issue with this team. There's a cultural issue that is systemic and it doesn't seem to matter who's playing or coaching. The worst part of it all is the shamefull way this team just folds and lays down after getting punched in their mouths. There was absolutely no fight back and no answer whatsoever. It started horribly, continued to get worse and eventually and mercifully ended. WOW.....what a complete dumpster fire and I don't know how they pick themselves up and convince themselves they can EVER beat a Shanahan scheme.

@timothyarnold1679, so you're asking for the offense to score 50 yesterday. You definitely blame the defense. Once it got out of hand. Saints defense was able to si back, didn't fear the run at all. Offense needs to better for sure but that was for sure on defense yesterday.
@joshuaort201
@joshuaort201 Ай бұрын
The common denominator is the head coach. Maybe I’m not sure how it works, but wouldn’t Bellichek tell his coordinators what he wants or how the game will most likely unfold?? Not solely on coordinators is what I’m saying. Zimmer has seen 2 games now with this group. This is his 1.
@timothyarnold1679

@TheSykomusic1
@TheSykomusic1 Ай бұрын
@timothyarnold1679 So, was Defense gassed from the start? The offense wasn't handing them quick 3 and outs. Every drive was a journey, but they definitely needed to produce more than field goals. Still led to points in the first half, tho. No way should Defense be giving up 21 before the 2nd half. I'm still agree with the offense that has to be better. Defense needed at least hold them to field goals. 5 tds on 5 straight possessions!!! If Defense holds for at least 2 of those, it changes the game.

I watched the game again and I saw some interesting stuff: 1.) Jordan Phillips got bulldozed 4 yards back into the end zone which allowed a td. If he cant play better than that he needs to be cut. 2.) Eric Kendricks is responsible for at least 2 td’s. He looked drunk out there. 3.) Demarvion Overshown was responsible for another long td. No wonder why they benched him, but he isnt as bad as Kendricks. 4.) Cooper Beebe had a few bad plays but also had a lot of good plays too, he is moving guys out there. 5.) I dont know if Cesar Ruiz is a good player, but the Cowboys mad him look like Larry Allen out there. 6.) Donovan Wilson looked clueless quite often. 7.) Jalen Tolbert made some really nice plays and he should be good. 8.) Schoonmaker did some good things today. 9.) Mazi Smith was the best dt today…thats a scary thought. 10.) Trevon Diggs does not play look like an nfl player right now. The effort level with him is pretty disappointing. 11.) Deuce is too small to play in the nfl.

I hear Broaddus but Micah is a LB and has been that’s why he got drafted top 10 cause of his LINEBACKER play. Look at his draft profile, I’m a Penn state fan I watched every game of his in college. He got praised for his sideline to sideline ability while also being able to blitz. DQ turned him into a full time edge but he’s still built like a LB and as a result he would be best used as a LB on run downs and having Kneeland/Gholston and Tank in the edge during run downs. Guarantee we would see better results. Zimmer doing the same thing DQ did just leaving Micah on the LE or RE and letting teams key on him

The saints saw that our dbs are terrible at run blocking, our edge presence doesn’t set the edge. That’s why everyone runs to the outside. I can run away from Micah take him out the play and Diggs might be the worst tackling db in the league. Do you notice they always attack Diggs on the run and he always gives up 7 to 8 yards. He doesn’t run down and tackle he sits there and lets people run into him which is crazy

This is the team Jerry wanted. This is the “all in” team. Mediocrity at its finest. Sal’s signing was a waste of money. He doesn’t have any “comeback” talent. Once we get down 2 or 3 scores, the game is over. Dak cannot bring a team back. He lacks arm strength for the long throws. Many under thrown balls. Glad Jerry paid him all that guarantee money!

Both Cesar Ruiz and Trevor Penning were 1st round draft picks. Saints have invested heavily in their offensive line. Sometimes scheme is all thats needed. You're also completely wrong about Taysom Hill. He's big and powerful with very good speed. He came into the league as a QB but has added weight since then. He's a special jack of all trades that can bust a big one on you. No Diddy.

Think this D could be scary good with Kneeland and Lawrence on the edges and Micah and Overshown in the middle of the field. Especially with a decent space eater on the inside.They could move Micah around and keep the offense off balance. Move Micah to the edge on obvious passing downs.

Vouch nailed it. Defense was a focal point in this win, but the offense was no better. We may not be able to run the ball, our screen game is inept, we can’t pull off play action, but at least we have the 60 million dollar man. These comments are not directed at you guy (mostly anyway). We need a place to vent. This team has been nothing but frustrating for so many years. I feel it myself and I see it in these responses. Lifelong fans like me are disengaging. I’m done with Jerry rhetoric. When they brought Zeke back I was appalled.
