I just need to understand why McCarthy, for the first 4 weeks, ran the SAME offense as the first 6 weeks of last season??? We know it didn't work last year, so why did he come back to it this year??? Those Tolbert blocking problems look like a play design problem... there is no way Tolbert could have gotten to his responsibility. I thought the best part of Zimmer's defense this week was that he seemed to change the philosophy of the DTs, and had them attack the gaps instead of mirroring.

I prefer Guyton over Steele, he’s been dominated over the last 3 games and I know we can say the same for Tyler, but Tyler is a raw prospect as many know. But having him over to his original position he played in college would be a good move.

Am I the only one wondering why J. Brooks catch for a 1st down was never challenged?. While watching on tv Brooks appeared to have caught it just above the tv first down indicator. Referees then mark it 2 yards short from where it was caught. The commentators said nothing about a challenge?? Maybe.. I missed something? 😂 It was never challenged by our coaching staff.. Because McCarthy didn't show his hand in the first few weeks. If they did shifts and motion day one. Teams will watch film and shut us down. McCarthy was top in the league last year for his offense. Fun everyone wanted to question McCarthy game style last week. And thought zimmer might not be the guy. But both showed they can do more with less. Give Zimmer his flowers. Quinn drafted Mazi Smith. Voch - you called it. The motion, especially motion at the snap - was unreal for this offense. I don't remember the last time MM did this with his offensive play design. Bryan - your explanation on the pick wasn't up to your standard. The fact Dak wanted to run the play quickly hoping to get a penalty was a non sequitor - it doesn't explain the route or the throw. Dak was either throwing something back shoulder or expecting a different route. Lamb was going corner of the end zone. What was the call and who was wrong?

He had three awful plays. He wasn't awful throughout. He was both the reason we were able to take a lead in that game, the reason Pitt was able to hang around, and the reason we went on a 70 yard game ending TD drive. It was quite the paradox. I do agree that you can't get away with that against good teams, though. And you have a $60 million QB for many reasons, and being able to overcome those kinds of mistakes is one of them. You don't always have to see everything through a lens of cycnicism. Criticize him for the bad and give him his roses for the good. We got the entire spectrum in that game.
