That’s great! I hear what Wesley is saying about Private with access through creation. Events that grow the game. George helping the kids. I met you guys practicing at Charwood. Nice little public course. You have a lot of young people that drink too much and want to wear their flip flops and drive a golf cart on the green. So it has destroyed IR On top of poor management and poor customer service. This has caused that precious gem to be neglected and laughed at. Once you have polished that diamond you gotta protect it:

I'm happy for them. But sad that it will be private. I have family in Columbia. It would have been awesome to be able to play a round when visiting. They could still control the amount of rounds without being completely private. There are many semi-private courses all over America.

You can certainly be semi private and still protect the course based on the non member rate. You can set a rate that will allow the public to play the course but not want to make it the weekend or even daily track. If the non member rate was $150-$200 a round. I wish you could use your GHIN card to show you're not a member but still respect the game and the course. Pebble Beach is a great example of a public course. Oh well still subscribe and love the content

i get it that many do not like the idea of it being private. However, as a person who has been fortunate to be a member of a private club for many years, there is nothing better. even if like me, your game is not great. it is an escape. not everyone can do it, but if you can without becoming a snob, it is a great experience. Plus, courtesy access at other clubs are common. Your pro arranges and usually charged back to your home club.

Making it available to influencers means nothing if you leave out the people. It’s good to save a course but lame to turn a public course private with some vague promises or opening it sometimes. Also brings up kids. Can they play free? Or a great price? Will you support first tee and other affordable programs for kids like junior league and junior tours in general having access for good prices. Having a bunch of rich guys in hoodies means nothing; can still be a bunch of snobs.
