“You don’t always have to do that. You probably shouldn’t always do that. Matter of fact if you do that I’ll probably make fun of you.” Lmao

Very good talk. Stay in the moment... that reminded me of a time when I was showing off the accuracy of my .338 Edge a number of years ago. We are hunting on a ranch in TX and the "camp" is a house that was down on the coast and up on stilts. The owner moved it to the ranch and kept it elevated so the deck we were shooting off of was 10'-12' above the ground. The shot was down a sendero, slightly down hill. We set the target up at 800 yards using my rangefinder. The wind was 12-15, right to left almost 90 degrees. I put "everything" into the solver, dialed up the shot, and sent one. It's a hunting ranch not a target ranch so I was only allowed one shot. It hit dead center and 8" high. I've always said that if I miss with that rifle it's my fault. I couldn't figure out what happened. It wasn't the solver. It had to be the data. A few hours later I took the rifle back out to the porch and set it up to shoot (no shot taken). That's when I realized there was a significant down angle to the target. I measure the angle with my phone, entered it into the solver, and I needed 1 minute less up than I originally used. That one "little" mistake would have caused me to miss or injure an animal if I had been shooting at it. Lessons learned and all that jazz.
