Great story telling, insight and food for thought while raising a teen myself with very limited social media. What gets me, actually crosses boundaries, when others choose to post photos without permission on social media. Wish they would ask permission before posting (rather than me reminding them not to) in addition to following the 48 hour rule. Great advice!

Balance between your private life and your public life. And well, I really, really love this speach, so much needed. I find myself between delete my social media and keep it because I am a really private person and bothers me people thinking that you have to post every single piece of your life and I disagree. What I like most about social media is the possiblity to see the world through different eyes and culture and people, and also the memes lol. Well, you have to be balanced and careful people....

we must balance between private life and public life. as experience, inner circle is important. why? because we can't trust everyone. when we have difficulties in life, not everyone can help. a strong bond will be formed because we can invest our time with them more. without inner circle I feel empty. we shouldn’t be too much in sharing things on social media because not everything we see there is true, some of them are fake. we must be wise in using social media, use it for useful things.

I had a wide grin when she said "two day delay", remembering how for most of my 11yr+ "youtuber" life (as of 2022), .. I have followed at least " 1 YEAR DELAY ". As in, I scroll back on my phone, and post memories from last year .. if and when I can remember them. The social network gets to hear about my trips years after I've travelled, and by then have moved on to other interesting things. It has been very 'counter-productive' when you think from a "youtuber" perspective (since almost everyone seems to wanna blow up), but very very sensible thing to do, to actually LIVE a wonderful life & for Inner Peace.
@BeeSweet162 жыл бұрын
I like how she said to ask yourself "who does this serve and is it worth it?" Most of the time I don't post or go on social media BECAUSE it doesn't serve me much, only my ego. If I had pictures of trips or hanging out with friends or family, maybe. Big MAYBE. Special events with others? Thats worth a post. Quite honestly, I would scrapbook my adventures, quality time and special events. It means more to ME than having strangers approve of me. It's also why I will choose to use a pen name for my writings going forward. I like my privacy :3

I'd like my last few years on Earth to be devoid of as much human contact and interaction as is possible, and I'm mostly already there. 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨

This speech sounds well intended. Aside from the mental work that was done to overcome mommy issues. I &feel that having a social media account does not automatically deem someone a public figure. Sites like Facebook were initially intended to connect friends and love ones in a fast paced, busy world and society. People should not be stalked or bashed because others disagree with opinions or are triggered by photos of happy moments. Social media has taken an abusive turn with people intending to silence others because of the expression of who they are. This also has led to unnecessary competition and battles because what is portrayed or shared goes against preconceived notions or rumors. Why else would there have been a Facebook whistle blower? I have personally felt the lash of resentments due to accolades shared on social media. Social media is a major platform that has opened the doors for many people who otherwise may never be recognized. By silencing these individuals, I have also noticed, that corporate America, Canada and other State-Sponsored Syndicates exploit vulnerabilities of the less fortunate, rake in big bucks from their ideas through the harvesting of genuine creativity, data bank while masking the TRUE origin of said intellectual property. Invasion of privacy is still a crime and a social media account does not warrant such violations.

Confidence comes by having "Wealth and Privilege" because if all else fails you can always fall back on those two. Also a vast majority of the Elite families of America's past forgone "Coddling" and many of those people turned out to be chaotic and have no heart later in life. We are already under the eye on personal information that has to be shared that limits from trying to own a starter house (which is now unattainable) and not able to afford rent for a one bedroom apartment (which is becoming more unattainable). Unless you own a home behind a Gated Community with 24 hour Security with enough funds to hire a legal firm to protect your personal information, you won't be able to protect yourself. Richy Cunningham may of been a joke, but in our new "smaller community" thanks to the internet, the rest of us wouldn't mind being described by that name if it came to being able to live a comfortable life away from worry...we already "are sitting on it" and it's hurting the rest of us.

8:01 Wait-- WHY is opting out supposedly "not the answer"? I don't accept that. This stuff is bad for our health. "Meta" executives don't let their OWN CHILDREN use their products. You later ask "why" post, or "what is the purpose?" The answer is-- there's no good reason. It's just attention-seeking. We don't need it. Everyday non-famous people should connect with their own local communities. That's where we need the most connection for a better society.

Well, I think you missed the point. Try telling a kid that you cant start a youtube channel because of this complicated reason. First of all, they wouldnt understand this reason and rather think of this as an attack. A restriction. Its like you are imprisoning that kid. You might think it is exaggerated, but that is how kids think. Not only that, you would only force the kid to hide the fact that he started a channel without telling you. That would definitely create trust issues.
