As a not especially chatty person I've always been fascinated by people like Jools. He could talk for his country. Rob could have popped out of the studio, gone to the bathroom, got a coffee and Jools would still be chatting away when he got back ☺

I was on holiday in greece in a tiny village in the 70's . Tourism had just arrived and there was a mix of young cool people like myself and families. Since it was so small everybody soon knew everybody else and the atmosphere was really good. Then Glenn Tillbrook of Squeeze turned up and he was an impressively nice man, got the guitar out occasionally and fitted in welll with the rest. I always wondered about his relationship with jools and was very pleased to hear that its very good. Nice to heat about the model railways as well.

Rob is correct, the popular band is called 'Eagles' because there was already another American R&B band called 'The Eagles' who enjoyed a small amount of success in the 50s.

Yes I found this out about 2 years ago, because I was researching the Early Elvis Presley songs and found out that a tune called “ Trying to get to you “ and you can hear similarities in both versions, yes even Elvis copied vocal styles . A must listen.

I’m a 72yo Australian. The Bee Gees were always The Bee Gees. Even on Brian Henderson’s Bandstand ( Channel9, 5 00pm, Saturday) when Barry was 14 and the other two were 12. Brian went on to read the news in Sydney for about 50 years.

Squeeze had to be renamed in US, Canada and Australia and records launched under an amended name of UK Squeeze because there had already been a previous Ozzy and US bands named Squeeze or similar. Correct me if I'm wrong, no issues with that. Brilliant band. Brilliant man in Jools Holland. Great choice for this series. Talented, artistic and intelligent.

7" of Cool For Cats was the second proper record I ever bought (1979 - incredible year for music!). I only recently learned that Paul Carrick did vocals (and keys I presume) on 'Tempted', one of Squeeze's best although I've seen Tilbrook do a very decent job of the vocals as well.

Looking on Discogs, seems most the records put out is simple "Eagles". But there are records like the 1980 "Spotlight Special Presents The Eagles" which has 'The' prefix. Amd 1976 release on 'Asylum Records - W 53051', it's "The Eagles - Hotel California" actually written on the record sleeve. Similarly with the 1973 record of 'Lynn Anderson / The Eagles* - What's It All About'. On the record label it reads "The Eagles". So can see where confusion can come, Jools may well be recalling in his minds eye one of those labels/sleeves, ao correct also. I had no idea, just found it interesting so checked some images out of records on Discogs and thoguht would add comment

To Bee Gee or not to be, The Bee Gees. This is mixed. Their first album was sans the "The," in the UK and for some US pressings, and yet for the same album in Japan and other markets, the "The" was prominent on the cover and in promotional material. The Bee Gees - Sing & Play 14 Bee Gees Classics (2018) features the "The."
