Jeff, I wish you a speedy and full recovery. I am excited and proud to have received the 2001: a Space Odyssey #1 in 9.6 today. I love the COA. I was born in 1972. I grew up listening to my parent's original score 12" vinyl record of the movie. I finally rented the movie when I was 20 years old or so. I have always wanted to own an issue from that series. Especially an issue #1.

It was fun collecting in 1970s and 1980s...at time I didn't buy a lot fresh off newstand but bought collections all over the place and including 38,000 books from a store that shut down. Had probably 95% of silver age Marvel period plus a lot of DC but started a comic shop in late 1980s and also sold off many to local collectors and adding to shop. Core collection started selling off on EBay in late 1990s. Regret moving so much back then but had other activities going on...Wilbur had a good time in building that collection.

What's incredible to me is that I also sold off my Silver-Bronze Marvel collection in 1984 for a handful of magic beans. I never managed to rebuild to the extent that Mr Wilbur did, what an effort! All the best for a swift recovery, Jeff.

And reality punched me in the face like that. I already felt trepidation as "Mr. WIlbur" was also the name of my beloved and now gone pet cat who I'm convinced- kept me from dying from Covid. And it tears me up that I wasn't able to save his life. And sure enough, Mr. WIlbur's reasoning for parting with his collection now is sobering and underlying sad. I hope he has another 20 years of life in him. I hope he beats this. He deserves to. His family deserves it. I want to buy a couple of books from the Marvel 25 cent November 1971 month just to get the COA's in tribute to him (and my cat, too). I cant believe I'm so sad over this.

Thank you so very much! ❤ I kept my oldest original duplicate 6.0 copy of Silver Surfer #1, that I ultimately had the opportunity to get signed by Stan in 2015. As far as the kids go, I’ve kept other mementos for them - like a MIB Iron Giant from 1999, a Windows 98 gaming PC with old game discs from their youth, some Samurai Jack stuff, etc. 😊
