Bryson uses internal rotation of the left shoulder to keep the left elbow pointing at the target so he doesn't hit it left. It was in his swing expedition with chris como on January of this year.

I do agree Bryson does not follow all of Moe's/Graves style....but I also will attest to the fact I have had 6 hole in ones using what I could figure out with Graves DVD's and training aids (also a couple lessons from a former associate of Graves) everyone is different and when you hit on what ever variance you have the Graves method does lower the handicap and at least gives you a way to re-set on the course when things go high wire. Best tip I will ever share about the Graves method is once you sorta got it you will be amazed how you can make a snow man on a par 4, re-set your self and birdie the next par 4...Last week, 7 on opening par 3, 9 on next par 5....stopped and re-set...shot 83 and won Men's Club that day because I know the Graves Method enough to re-set on the fly and that is worth every penny I gave Todd Graves.

I would also 'explain' his consistency/face control slightly differently than you. Bryson has spoken about his Left Wrist being set in Ulnar Deviation, in combo with his weak left grip and Large Grip, as being his keys for clubface control. When swinging at that speed, the club's mass is going to pull the body's arm/wrist/hand to line up with the club's mass - thus 'stretching' the Left wrist into an Ulnar Deviation - thus starting with the wrist in this position, a-la Moe Norman, is the idea. I think the large grip with the reduced gearing effect is a big part of it.

Your pt #2, pulling hard & fast from the top, is NOT done for the reason you say, (shallow the club), it's done to obtain the fastest clubhead speed possible. Just like on a racetrack, exiting a corner as fast as possible allows a car to multiple this higher starting exit speed down the entire straight - thus enabling a higher top speed; and this is why you see the fastest guys on tour have almost brutal loading at the top in transition during reversal of direction - if you want to hit it further, this is the area you have to focus on.

So Tip#1 it's all about "Grip IT and Rip IT" - you've been ahead of Dechambeau all along. Nice job Mike, really interesting analysis. Looking forward to hearing you talk more about the JumboMax grips - would like to see you give them a review on the driving range maybe, instead of in the rough on your back 9 LOL - they look OK on the club but how are they in action? 👍 😎 👍

Hey Mike. You are way wrong with the grip. Bryson practices at our club La Costa. See the explanation below by steven vig. Steven explains it very well. Bryson never wants to hit it left .

You need to watch Todd Graves golf Acadamy videos on the single plane swing and it will give you a better idea of what he is doing. The model for Bryson’s swing is not Hogan it is Mo Norman. Bryson does do something’s unique to him but the model is Mo.
@Mikes3DLife4 жыл бұрын
O yes i am aware but more people know ben hogan than mo norman and i was just comparing the weakness of the grip in this example

Graves swing does work very well, but it is not the power hitting swing like Bryson

His "model" actually was inspired by the Golf Machine book that Mike Schy gave him when he was a kid.

@natgolfpro13 жыл бұрын
@@Mikes3DLife in a single plane swing you will shallow out more on the downswing. That happens naturally. He is still single plane however. You demonstrated a conventional two plane swing

This is so revolutionary. I love it, and I love all the different comments people have. There’s 2 types. Closed minded and open minded commentators. These old school closed minded haters don’t like change, thinks Bryson is arrogant, spoiled and his swing will never last. While open minded free thinkers sees confidence, and competitiveness, a game changer. His swing is my golf rebirth, and I have nothing but gratitude for dude.

I was telling everybody to pull down like 20 years ago. It took 20 years to finally make the idea to the tour? My new swing theory is going to change the entire golf world. Iv cracked the code. I really did!

Sam Snead called it the “ pull down” 50 years ago...
@mazdaspeedmx512lbs3 жыл бұрын
@@jed1166 Iv solved the swing & its nothing the golf world expects. I literally created a new model from scratch. With my new model there are unaccounted angles that are accounted for that only my new model accounts for. My new model accounts for the missing pieces of the code. Without my model the swing plane model lacks.

Just scrolled through your video without watching. Your grip is trash for a single plane swing. You are using two planes traditionally and calling it Bryson. Look up Moe Norman and Todd Graves videos all over KZbin to teach what Bryson is doing. All he does to add distance is add a longer backswing and full body rotation through follow through. Otherwise the single plane swing will result in a slightly shorter but much more accurate shot, which is why I switched myself. I was very long and inaccurate. Now I’m still plenty long but much more accurate hitting greens/fairways not taking penalties.
