Ever since i started listening to ur music in february bryson i started to feel tension in the air and started to see the evil more clearly in this world, still was smoking za and drinking a lot but i started hearing this voice so clear and the voice was telling me to stop doing certain things and i knew it was God cus i was raised Christian but i fell into the world for 9-10 years living in sin not caring and thinking i was saved but the wordly music i listened to had me in a spell and since i started listening to Jesus music and stopped worldly music completely i woke up and been clean for over 4 months off drugs and alcohol, glory to Jesus Christ the living God, He really came to me while i was sinning

Romans 6 is foundational doctrine to any true Christian. Let’s examine just the first two verses on a small exposition shall we? They’re rhetorical questions: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” 6:1 “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?” If sin generates grace, should we encourage sin in order to cause more grace to be granted? 6:2 “God forbid.” Perish the thought. May it never, ever be - don’t even think that way. This expression of unthinkable horror (and I’m only going on a small exposition on the first two verses) occurs in Paul’s epistles more than 60 times. He uses it whenever the thought suggested is too repugnant, too repulsive to even entertain. He does this by asking rhetorical questions (a question in which the answer is found within the question itself). Sin is singular in this verse (verse 2) and throughout this chapter. It refers to the SIN NATURE of man. If you’re saved, that’s the old man. If you’re not, then this is a foundational chapter to understanding the gospel more clearly. I encourage anyone reading this to do your own expositions on every verse, not just in Romans 6, but in the entire Bible. That's literally why we need grace, because we DO have sin. That's why it's called "grace" in the first place. The gift of eternal life it's not earned or merited or maintained by our own law keeping and works of behaving like good boys, as nice as those things are. That would give us excuse to boast (Eph 2:8-9, Romans 4:1-8) And if we really see God's law for what it is, what Jesus revealed in further showing the high standard of God's glory, we know how indescribably FAR we all fall from it and how sinful we actually are. Romans 2 and 3 make this clear. Do you pass the James 2:10 test? Did you check out Romans 5 before you got to Romans 6? 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so *by the righteousness of one* the *free gift* came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the *obedience* of *one* shall many be made *righteous.* 20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. *But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:* 21That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 11: 5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6 *And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. The Bible literally says "where sin abounded, grace did much more abound" in the previous chapter, Romans 5. Because it says there that eternal life is a "free gift", by faith in the righteousness and obedience of *one* - that *one* being Christ. That's why it's called "grace" in the first place. "Grace" that is conditioned upon you working and paying a debt for it isn't grace (Romans 11:5-6). We make a huge mistake when we don't fully understand God's high standard for righteousness (James 2:10) that only the perfect work of Christ met, and fail to understand how FAR more sinful we are than we think.

Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?” Paul said this in the same context as Romans 5 there are no chapters in the original letter. ‭‭

Could you clarify a bit more on what you mean by “necessity”? Baptism isn’t required in order to be saved, it’s a public declaration of your self profession of salvation. It’s a symbol for dying to sin and being reborn in Christ. The thief on the cross next to Jesus joined Him in heaven without being baptized.

​@Sionys never in the bible does it says baptism is a mere outward sign. The bible says we are baptized into Christ, be baptized for the remission of sins, and baptism now saves us. Jesus forgave the thief sins on the cross. Mark says Jesus has power on earth to forgive sins. The bible never says he wasn't baptized but nevertheless the thief was surely judged differently than us. Even you believe you have to believe the death burial and resurrection and the thief surely didn't believe in the burial and resurrection b4 it happened. Even the Apostles didn't believe Jesus would resurrection. Acts 2:38 repent and be baptized for the remission of sins.

@@Sionys you ignored my arguments. Bible contradicts the idea of faith alone everywhere. James 2 says its not by faith alone. By grace: God sacrificed his Son for us. We did not deserve or were entitled to the sacrifice. Faith: trust in God. The beliefs, the doctrine we follow. God gave us the faith through his Son and through the Holy Spirit through the Apostles. Saving belief implies obedience. Hebrews 5:9, john 3:36, numbers 20 Moses was said to not believe when he didn't follow Gods instructions. He surely had a belief in God but his works were contrary to his deeds. Grace through faith doesnt mean there are no conditions to receive the grace. The faith is how we get the grace (believe, repent, confess, be baptized, continue faithfully). This doesnt me we earn salvation. Nothing i could do myself would save me. I need to access the grace through the faith he has given us which includes works. Also Believing is a work (john 6)
